An unknown government agency's plans for a secret spy programme involving spy satellites and $9.5 Billion in spending was leaked recently. An
investigation has been launched. The approximately $40 Billion dollar spy budget, which is classified, would mean that much money would have been the
largest expenditure. Sen. John Rockefeller had publically denounced such spending on something "wasteful".

The Washington Post said on Saturday the classified program was for a new generation of spy satellites designed to orbit undetected. It cited U.S.
officials as saying its projected cost had almost doubled to nearly $9.5 billion from $5 billion.
That would make the program probably the largest single item in the estimated $40 billion intelligence budget, which is also classified.

The U.S. government is willing to go to great lengths to keep tabs on its own people and foreigners, but why hide such things? $9.5 Billion is a lot
of money and it is surprising that they expected to keep the project under wraps.
Does anyone know anything more about this project? Did it involve just satellites?
