Military Drills: Iran, Cuba, China, Russia- Any Connection?

- Iran: Recently reported they are conducting largest military drills EVER
- Cuba: After nearly 20 years basically dormant, they announce and execute military drills to "deter US invasion."
- China and Russia: Joint military drills to begin soon as reported here at ATS

Makes me wonder what N. Korea has been doing. Couldn't find anything.

Do you think that these any of these drills could be related somehow? Such as a plan to jointly attack America? Or is this just more saber rattling?

I'm going with saber rattling...

Cuba couldn't do much if we really wanted to invade them or anything. They're also not in any position to go on an offensive.

Iran is just letting us know we're there and that if something happens and the US invades that they'll be more than ready.

China depends too much on the USA's industry to do something stupid like destroy it. Their military is really just blossoming from a technical standpoint, and they want to show it off. Could have something to do with scaring Taiwan though.

Russia is trying to revive its old military, and has been doing large-scale drills for the past few months it seems.

I wouldn't be surprised to see India doing some large-scale excercises as well in the near future.

One word; preparation. WWIII approaches.

Yeah well think about it: Cuba comes at us from the south, Iran attacks us in Iraq, Russian and Chinese forces tackle the US coasts...North Korea attacks US in S.Korea.....ewww...I don't like where this is going. Please tell me I am dreaming.

You're dreaming. Think about it. What sort of position could Cuba attack from? We'd catch their boats coming in, and any attempt by Russia or another country to get troops in ahead of an attack would be picked up as well.

Iran couldn't attack us... We're in too deep and we'd just airstrike the hell out of them as soon as they set foot in Iraq.

N. Korea again is in no way ready to attack us in S. Korea. They may have nukes, but any use of those would be like giving the order themselves to level the country with our nukes.

Russia, like I said before, is just trying to build up their former military presitige. They are in no position to attack us either, especially with problems of their own going on.

China is FAR too dependant on our economy and industry to do something like attack us now.

Plus who would attack us from the East Coast where our capital and most everything else government related is? France? Hah!

Greed. The U.S goverments greed will finaly get back at them. Now would be the perfect time to revolt against those oligarchs in office and take back your country; or, you can sit there and let them exploit you as they always have for decades.

I think, perhaps, the latter will be the case. There are too many cowards these days.

Actually, Iran could attack you in Iraq. It would have the advantage initially, due to the surprise attack, and slaughter masses of US soliders scattered in Iraq. Provided Iran attacks with all it's ground, sea and air power. Further, it has the geographical advantage, as it knows the terrain, and has a natural supply line between the borders. I hope it does, rather than wait to for US to regroup and attack it.

North Korea could attack, provided that US is occupied with Iran and Iraq. As the attack would be against South Korea, it will not be classified as a high level attack against the US.

You are understimating Russia. Russia has a very powerful army and nuclear force. It has no reason to fear US. In fact very recently Putin slammed the US.

It is dependent, but if the eventuality shall arise where the US meddles further in it's affairs of Taiwan, then it will not think twice. Further, China will not take lightly to an invasion of Iran.

There are long range bombers, missiles, submarines, and covert WMD attacks through organized networks(terrorist organizations)

Well we can say that now we know whos side some nations will take against any more American agression.

The way things are going I predict an invasion of Iran in about 2 years, so Iran will do good as to get some friends on his side.

China needs Russia and Iran for oil so I got the feeling that China will protect the country that will supply its need without having to beg for it.

cmd, thanks, your comments are reassuring...but...I am saying if this all happened as a coordinated effort, all at once, with little warning. How could we realistically defend against all that? There wouldn't be enough man power, equipment and smarts to deal with it all, IMO. Yeah sure, the UK and a few others like Japan might help, but still. That's already problematic because of Galileo. Yeah wwIII. India? In bed with Russia right about now.

A necessary reaction to a clearly overagressive Bush hell bent on securing enough land in the middle east to lay a pipeline to the caspian sea and dominate the world's oil supply, and to deter its long term plan for global domination and population reduction. I was just reading some articles on the NPR, or Nuclear Posture Report, which is a classified yearly document. Climate change. Nuke wars over dwindling food supplies and sheer survival. Nasty stuff. I've been discussing this thread via AIM with a good friend... Him and I both agree that the logistics are impossible as well for this to be such a highly coordinated invasion. Think of things like the internet, cell phones, tv/radio stations. All could be used to create and organize a resistance. Especially cell phone towers. Almost everyone has a cell phone in populated areas, and there would be far too many towers for them to be effectively knocked out. Plus they would be useful to keep intact if their occupation was successful.

Not to mention EVERYONE with a gun and a brain would do their own to defend the nation, if not just thier families and friends. That's why Japan never invaded the continental US, you know? Every house and building had the potential to be a sniper's nest.

How are a half a dozen countries riddled with spies going to mass up these huge armies without satellites that can read a news paper from orbit seeing them and launch a "surprise" invasion?

Even if that was possible (which its not) we would nuke the entire planet killing BILLIONS of people before we allowed another country to invade us. The invasion pipe dreams of the America haters are just that, pipe dreams. No one is stupid enough to invade a country that can kill every living thing on the planet much less them.

The thread is about the possible alliance to counter the American superpower. I simply stated that this is the end result of the Greed habituated amongst the oligarchs [operative word: oligarchs] in the confines of that country and the WhiteHouse.

Now, unless you can point out remarks made by me that have insinuated that I hold "hatred and animosity" against America, I might give you the benefit of the doubt.

Do I hate every single American ? No, if I did, I have no qaulms in making it evident and clear. Do I hate the puesdo-dreams that America protrays to it's own people and the rest of the world ? Yes, and I have made this clear and evident.

IMHO, working their collective a***s off to get some nukes ready before it's to late. I know I would.

Nuclear weapons is probably the only thing that can deter against a US invasion.

And before all the "US of A-patriots" starts telling me how they would turn NK into a parking lot if they hit the US with nukes: I know, and so does the crazy b*****d ruling them (the dictator of NK that is, not Bush ). I don't think he would strike US soil even if he could, but he seems to be just about insane enough to use them on home soil.

Imagine; you wait until a suitably sized invasion force is inside your country. Then: POF, thousands of enemy soldiers vaporized. It might not be the nicest thing for his own population, but hey, whenever did Mr. Jong Il care about them anyway?

I agree with this NK would not use them against America first for just the reasons you stated but they WOULD use them against an invading Army. Jong might be insane but he is not crazy
