The game was originally planned for release last Autumn but got put back to Jan 27th because the devs wanted to get it right after the poor port of GTA4 , Rockstar has said the game has been pushed back to March 24.
I'm sure when it releases it will be great.

"Moving a release date is never a decision we take lightly and is a choice we make only when we know it is in the best interests of the game and our fans. Thanks everyone for your understanding and we assure you these few extra weeks will be worth it when the game does arrive in March."

On the bright side Rockstar have released the official system specs for the game , which to be honest look the same as the specs being touted over the last couple of months.

Minimum ...
OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1, Windows Vista 64 Bit Service Pack 2* (*NVIDIA video card recommended if running Vista OS)
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs) / AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs) @ 2.5GHz
Memory: 4GB
Video Card: NVIDIA 9800 GT 1GB / AMD HD 4870 1GB (DX 10, 10.1, 11)
Sound Card: 100% DirectX 10 compatible
HDD Space: 65GB
DVD Drive

Recommended...
OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1
Processor: Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.2GHZ (4 CPUs) / AMD X8 FX-8350 @ 4GHZ (8 CPUs)
Memory: 8GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GTX 660 2GB / AMD HD7870 2GB
Sound Card: 100% DirectX 10 compatible
HDD Space: 65GB
DVD Drive

I think the minimum specs are very reasonable but I don't think I'd want to play it using a GT 9800

The game is awesome on an Xbox One!

Well worth the wait for the pc I am sure.

Doesn't bother me. I'm going to wait for it to go on sale on Steam anyway. It's been a while since I paid full price for a game, and even though I am excited for this one, I'm still trying to be fiscally responsible.

I can't wait to play it. I was really looking forward to it being available this month, but oh well. I'm definitely not going to pay for it.

I like GTA and owned this game on PS4 (before I sold it) and still have it on PS3.

Good, yes - fun with a few mates and a slab of beer... but its way over hyped.

The game just never ends and its not like it changes much.. you just do mission after mission until you become a senior citizen.

I think this staggered release for console/pc is a bad marketing move.

Disappointing news, but I would rather they take the time needed to make it relatively bug-free and polished than rush it and have the opposite effects. I had it on Xbox 360 and only played a bit of it. I remember the 360 struggled to cope with the demands of the game. I have a PS4 now and have heard good things about it on Xbox ONE/PS4, but I will wait for the PC version as this is my preferred platform at present.

comes out a few weeks before my next birthday

A nice little pressie for me to buy for myself I think.
I hate it when games are rushed out full of bugs and I think RS are doing the right thing.

Now Rockstar are just taking the piss , GTA 5 PC has been delayed AGAIN !!!!! , now due for release April 14.

"Our apologies to PC gamers worldwide who have been counting down the days until the launch of the game, but a bit more time is needed to ensure that the game is as polished as possible," Rockstar said.

As a gesture of goodwill, players who have pre-ordered the game will receive an additional $200,000 in-game cash bonus to use in GTA Online.
