This is a theroritical policy I have written for what I consdier is the ideal political party deicated to the preservation of government of the poeple
by the people.
Would you vote for this political party? Thank you for your feed back
The XXXXX Party
We believe that governments should look and feel like servants of the ‘we the people’ and not like rulers.
We believe democracy and government of the people by the people is more than casting a secret ballot at election time and then become mere spectators
during the term of government. We believe the xxxxxxxxxxx people have the right, and in fact a duty, to be active participants in the government of
the county.
We believe active participation by the people extends to being the final ‘upper house’ through which major legislation and policy decisions pass
via referendum before they become law.
For example, we don’t believe xxxxx troops should have been sent to Iraq or Afghanistan until the xxxxxx people agreed to it through a referendum.
Similarly, the xxxxxx Tax should never have become law until it was agreed to by the people of xxxxxx through a referendum.
We do not believe xxxxxx should sign any international agreements or conventions with other countries, or groups of countries xxxxxxxx until the
xxxxxxxxxx people have first agreed to the contents of the proposed agreement through a referendum.
We further believe; that such referendum decisions should be ratified on their continued application through referendums held concurrently at each
federal election. If the decision or law is not ratified through such referendums, the laws or decisions will expire. This will build in a mechanism
to enable a previous decision that was passed by the people, to be reversed by the people, should their experience with the law or agreement by a
majority of people prove negative.
We believe technology and processes can be developed that will enable xxxxxxxx to participate in referendums with ease but at the same time eliminate
the potential for fraud and corruption of the casting and counting of votes. We also believe solutions can be found to enable referendums to be
efficient and inexpensive.
Democracy, rights and privacy are under threat in many countries of the world today so we believe xxxxxxxxxx constitution needs to be strengthened
through a Bill of Rights so the xxxxxxxxx Party will strongly support efforts to ensure such an instrument becomes law inxxxxxxxxx as soon as
possible.
We also believe the right to a trial by jury, as provided for in the xxxxxxxx Constitution, must be extended to all courts in xxxxxxxxxx and not
restricted to the higher courts as previous governments have done. We believe such governments have exceeded their constitutional authority in
restricting access to juries to the higher courts.
Many people these days feel their governments does not listen to them or address their needs. Many people feel that governments act like masters and
not servants. People are concerned that governments are governing for somebody else and not we the people who elected them. Many people are concerned
about erosion of their rights and their privacy. Many people feel there is a lack of choice in the two party system and feel the two major parties
inxxxxxxxxxxx are merely the two wings of the same bird-of-prey.
We the people of xxxxxxxxxxx can turn this around and not just choose the pilot every 3 years but set the flight plan also. With today’s
technology, we the people, we the masses, can be the ‘government’s government’ and restrict the pressure that highly organized, invisible and
sophisticated lobby and pressure groups can exert over governments.
We the people; can become the ‘governments government.’
If you share these views, please join and vote for the xxxxxxxxxxxxx party because the xxxxxxxxxx Party is the change agent to bring these changes
about. They will bring these changes about by working with other political parties and organisations who are equally committed to realising these
changes. Holding the balance of power in the Senate will force whoever forms government to negotiate and work with us, to achieve these reforms.
We make no apology for having a narrow political agenda and you will find no statements about health, education, welfare, tax, defense or foreign
policies etc on this site. This is because when the changes we have described above are achieved, the xxxxxxxxxx people will be the ‘government’s
government’ so they will quickly get the policy settings in these areas they will be able to ‘legislate ‘ it into existence through
referundums.
Thank you
