Actually if the democrats did it there'd be an outrage, they'd be known as Obamacamps and Breitbart and Alex Jones would soil themselves.

Don't worry, the democrats would never actually follow through outside of their self belief that they really do anything for the poor.

You really need to stop viewing people as bad caricatures from an old cartoon. Or use the sarcasm tag. Which is it?

It's me calling bs on American conservatives. Is that not allowed here?

You guys do know that the Ferengi are a fictional race, right?

The Rules of Aquisition

And if this was a "democrat" thing, my first thought would be "Helps people, saves money, smart!"

I'm willing to bet, however, that this program is neither a democrat thing, or a republican thing, but just a "people that care" thing.

( and I am an "American Conservative" ... gasp! )

you have been around long enough to see that i called no one a moocher yet you highlight my words then highlight the person who wrote the articles name calling as to indicate it was i that said moocher. come on

Also i gave two other links to related stories so i do not think we should dwell on repubs or moochers here. I will admit perhaps i should have used a different link to the story but i urge you all to find the meat here.

Not aimed at you my friend. The article itself.

The quote I used was from the link. I know these weren't your words.

Peace

No.

The producer of SD9 stated that they are merely modeled after 20th century humans, they are all of us. They are how we, in our current state, would appear in contrast to our more perfect future selves.

I don't understand your Jewish connection, and I don't really wish to either. The Ferengi do, however, make a good caricature of what some people seem to believe capitalism and conservatism are about (profit over people).

even you do not want to know the reference was that many believe the jews were in charge of the 20th century. This would relate to the op because of greed leading the way to housing the homeless. Simply stated if greedsters can understand it to be beneficial investment to house someone and have the gov. pay you to do it then they will. Bottom line is no matter who is running this show they are motivated by money not humanity.

I give praise to this Republican Governor for doing this.

People accuse me of being partisan for democrats and I always tell them I deal with issues: I don’t care if a guy is GOP, democrat, communist, socialist, or whatever if he or she does a humane act like this THEN I GIVE THEM CREDIT and possibly my vote.

We all should vote ISSUES not parties or dogma

Bravo to this GOP governor for trying something humane I hope and pray it works for those people and the state of Utah

Homelessness costs enormously in terms of medical, policing, businesses, prisons, and studies in BC were very high over 500 000 per individual, and at least that in eastern Canada. I would have tons more parks with manufactured homes, nice ones, own your land, taxes forgone unless you're a certain income. And then plug them into services since they have an address. And this is for the higher functioning ones.

Some are mentally ill and they really need some medical attention and out patient, checking on them, some are damaged, some are just down on luck. So different types of set ups and places. Some need to have care aids watching over and ensuring all have heat, electrical and aren't going to hack apart the walls to build a fire to keep warm. There were a few cases like that up north in BC, so just saying. They were long term alcoholics. And couldn't problem solve. Every year a few would die from the cold.

Communities, managing things, ensuring basic needs are met and hopefully emotional, life planning, friendships, human element as well.

This is far more important than spending way more money being a harsh asshat who hates on people. And far more important than sacrificing x number of people and children to the god of their economic political stripes, an ISM.

Real people count more than the ideas that come out of their heads.
