The New World Order discovered in the 1960s that an educated population, that felt secure economically, would begin to explore alternatives to the idea of following an elite anywhere it chose to take it. As people rose up against war, injustice, desired education to teach less conformity and more analysis and creativity, and began to question all aspects of the status-quo the ruling classes became alarmed. How could you keep the lid on such movements?

Simple, co-opt them and then convince them to kill themselves off!

Is it just coincidence that in the late 1960s the elite began a massive campaign to incorporate the population control ethic in people's minds? Of course they knew the under-classes would generally not care that much for exploring such ideas but the educated middle class would. Movies, education, all sorts of media were employed to convince people that marriage and childbearing were merely a choice. Abortion, pornography, alternative lifestyles...strange they came along at the very same time. And the results???

Well, we have had a negative birth rate amongst the middle class since the mid-1970s and it is getting worse. At the same time the elite are telling us that since we didn't reproduce enough we need to bring in millions of people from the developing world to replace the people who never were born in Europe and the USA. Then many people blame the immigrants? Well, at least they still make families. Darwin would shrug his shoulders and say, "That's what counts."

So will people continue the trend towards extinction? We shall see I suppose.

As far as I'm concerned the system actually thrived because of the well-fed, docile population who had Utopia on the horizon. It's very true that society changed rapidly in and since that decade but those who brought that change at the time are now the establishment and it shows. We are now even more well-fed and docile yet our prospects are bleak, but somehow we lack the spirit to fight the system in this incredibly content but also very complex world.

Movies, education, all sorts of media were employed to convince people that marriage and childbearing were merely a choice.

Luckily they have become a choice because of the new science that made it possible for the people to gain way more control over their lives and bodies.

Abortion, pornography, alternative lifestyles...strange they came along at the very same time. And the results???

That people now can have a life besides rearing 5 children at the age of 24.

At the same time the elite are telling us that since we didn't reproduce enough we need to bring in millions of people from the developing world to replace the people who never were born in Europe and the USA. Then many people blame the immigrants? Well, at least they still make families. Darwin would shrug his shoulders and say, "That's what counts."

But when you bring in millions and millions of people with a high birth rate into Europe, how is that depopulation?

And these people don't need to be educated to be a pain in society's ass.

Besides, the whole immigration thing is complex with many facets to it.

But there are individuals who hate mankind. Individuals who look at the Earth (or Mars) and say, I wish I could have all of this planet without stinking humans on it.

I take from the OP that his message was more about control by a few rather than the extinction of the race as a whole.

If I had the time, I'd pull out the stats for you.

The OP is correct, there is a negative birth rate in all first world countries.
Japan is the example of what the world will become.

Countries like Mexico, Iran etc. are teetering on the brink of a negative birth rate.

The only countries with high birth rates right now also have high morality rates.

What happens when you take people with historically high birth rates and move them to a first world country?
The first generation are rabbits because they don't know better, the second generation have close to negative birth rate, the third generation have negative birth rate.

The only way to keep a population stable is to regularly import totally uneducated people, preferably children and keep them undereducated or convince them to put peer pressure on each other not to engage in education voluntarily beyond the minimum required in the country they immigrate to.

For a long time the US was successful at keeping black people permanently in the breeding underclass. The ghettoized are still quite good at convincing young people education is a bad thing, and the black leadership has ignored this which has perpetuated it. Then free or nearly free abortion came along for the underclass and now black people are killing far more fetuses than live births, thus negating them as a closely held breeding underclass, relegating them to a low wage underclass due to the normalization of a negative attitude toward education.

The Mexican's were the next breeding underclass in the US. However, they never embraced the disdain for education which quickly led to them rising out of a breeding class, along with changes in their country of origin that led to a more stable and far lower birth rate.

There are fewer and fewer options in the world to import a breeding class. The children the US stole from South America will only be a breeding class for one or at the most two generations.

Eventually, there will be no breeding class to steal children from.

By this time, if not sooner
there WILL BE such a rise in robotics
that the jobs available
will only be for the educated elite

to annihilate themselves

that there is a population problem
if birth rates/death rates
remain on their current trajectory
(which is a higher population for about 20 or so more years
then a steep decline in population)
ending in projected extinction
in about 500 years

By that time AI will have
taken over the world
the elite will have fallen
to the AI
and the AI will either
encourage extinction
or keep just enough
humans to do what they
find they can not do
or keep a small zoo supply of humans

I don't know where the claim that US population is going down came from because it goes up about every 10 seconds that is figuring in births minus deaths it is still climbing.

Well, I guess we both have something in common. Who's to say anyone's version of how the world should be is correct? That is usually sorted out by society in general. We don't need another daddy or executioner. Good luck with the billions who are not just going to sit there and take it.
