Hoax seems a stretch.

the 'ufos' come into focus about the 1:50 mark and whatever they are do get quite clear at times as the video goes on.
Where were the birds going? The film lasted for quite a while and yet the birds didn't really go anywhere now, did they? You have much experience with flying birds that go nowhere?

It's my opinion that, Mark Passio, a UFOlogist who has spoken at MUFON events should have known he was seeing birds.
He has a vested interest in disclosure. The video is an unfortunately ploy to try and raise awareness for his YouTube channel.
Seriously. Anyone who has looked up and watched migrating geese would know -- the video is showing birds in formation.
It's not a reflection on the author of the opening post, it's a reflection on the content of the video.
And… the video is embarrassing to anyone that takes the subject of E.T. phenomenon serious.

I've lived here in NY all my life. Have seen plenty of flocks head north. Usually they get where they're going. These birds looked really lost. The best part is the location or vantage point of where they were filmed in this instance - framed between a few buildings and electrical wires. They really looked in peril from ever reaching their destination. I mean 10+ minutes of not moving must have them very tired indeed.

Oh come on.
This really is sad.
Several members post pictures of geese in very similar formations, and yet you embrace the hoax?
Here's a pro-tip…
Birds at higher altitude appear to be moving more slowly because… because… they're farther away from you.
Also, yes, large flocks of snow geese (they tend to migrate in large flocks) can get misdirected in mid flight. Having once lived in NY, I've seen it. Lots of people have. It's common.
Hey they finally got moving. Can see their flapping wings and all. Yeah that looks just like the OP video

Anything here look familiar?
Not only that, the wind was so strong it pushed the formation backwards...

so do you know what the wind speed was at altitude or not?
Or are you just assuming it must be strong because the birds aren't going anywhere?
Naw, geese don't hover...The lead goose is constantly moving to the rear as another takes its place to take advantage of the draft from the other geese to give it a chance to rest...

They don't appear to be any sort of birds I'm familiar with.
Well then I don't have to ask if you're an ornithologist, or even an average birder. These are very common birds.
Wiki - Snow Goose
My first thought was snow geese, I have seen plenty of them. I live near the goose hunting capital of the country.
I have never seen them hover in one area for so long. They generally seem to move across the sky.
Maybe some sort of flocking behavior that happens further north I've never observed.
I've also never seen geese look like "glitter" or "headlights" as some of the bystanders were describing.
I don't have the bonafides to call myself an ornithologist, but, as a hunter, I have spent some time observing nature.
I'm not saying it wasn't geese, but I'm not so quick to say that it was.
