Hey Meee 32, you can't argue with results. Trust your heart. I believe we are at the verge of a major awakening. Meditation could be a vital tool for this to happen. Thanks for sharing my friend and good luck in the coming new year!

Not sure I agree that Buddhist are automatically better than ....

No doubt there are lots of experts out there. That's all I meant...reach out to someone who is an expert and get your practice in person. It is honestly different meditating alone or as a group. I'm sure you'll learn ten times faster as part of a group. The religious angle can be challenging as Eastern religions are...different than what someone in the West might be use to.

My personal advice? Don't.

I have wasted five years meditating, shutting down my mind, dwelling in nothingness.

Meditation is not about 'shutting down the mind' it is about experiencing it so that you (not your conditioning) can use it productively.

Greetings- There are many meditations and it depends on what Your intentions are. I used "Ayurveda" to get healthy and meditation was part of the whole program. Once the meditation was helpful in getting Me off 5 Rx. meds I looked deeper into it, now I do 'it' throughout the day. Part of "My Trip" included a few out of body experiences and a trip to the "Akashic Records" where I was able to connect with My 'eternity' ergo, "time" isn't what it once meant.

The deep breathing helped earlier today when I fell in the lake when I was fishing and I can't swim. I hit My head on the way down and My only injury was a deep abrasion to My inner forearm so I 'may' end up with at the worse 'lockjaw' from the crap water supply. I had ZERO fear of 'dying'...

Some schools teach where "empty mindedness" is something that is very hard to attain, like a 'Sattva' guna ..Others where there is 'dual thinking' try chanting Om Bava ShaviYa Om while thinking about something else, then try thinking about 2 separate things...

if it helps you relax and forget about hard day-it's good. It's a real nice video, a bit odd, but really calm. So, don't worry, meditation is just a path you go in the end of the day)

Try Sun gazing failing that candle meditation but Sun gazing has many benefits and is sure to shake off depression.

Meditate in a quiet peaceful place (preferably in nature during warm weather). Meditate in 30 minute increments.
