As for the rest... Hollywood has a large stake in the new Internet. They practically own all of the major sites anyway ( if you disagree, start
Googling which company owns what subsidiaries ). They can't turn off
their own products during this little operation.
What they are doing, however, is setting precedent by Sony hiring botnets to take out pirating sites - DDoS'ing is a Federal Offense and yet Sony
admits, openly, to doing it. And nobody blinks.
Add that to the illusion that Anon are attacking the Internet at large? There's your recipe for providing a solution to a problem that was artificial
in the first place. Piracy and safety - the pin points that will be exaggerated and used to poke the jugular of the Internet as we know it.
