Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade building evacuated

Hi Everyone,

A friend of mine works across from the DFAT building in Canberra. He's just told me that the building has been evacuated and armed cops are running around outside.

Will post more when I find out more details.

Haven't got any links as this is just happening now.

Hopefully, this is a false alarm!

After what's just happened in Sydney, it's understandable.

Ditto ill bet everyone there is on edge aswell, especially given the timing! I hope it is just a false alarm from being over cautious after yesterday & this morning's events in Sydney.

We don't need anymore drama in our awesome country.

My friend was just told that they have to get comfortable as they are all going to be there for a while.

Yeah, i'm hoping it is all fine. Apparently, the cops aren't running around outside any more. They are just scouring the grounds around the building now.

Looks like it must've been a false alarm. My friend's building has been cleared to leave now.

Glad that it was nothing sinister.
