..started doing some painting again while waiting for the mushroom wars

slowly working on a post-apoc type cityscape using acrylics
(need lessons on how to blend colors)
O_O

PMSL "vanilla sky"
& katy perry inspired the broken torch on the statue of liberty (in the background smog)

found an old saw a few months back & started painting it into an owl
(when i find another one i'll turn it upside down & paint it as a bat)

if you're painting stuff like this i'd like to see it..
or if you know a little youtube vid or somethin' that shows how to blend colors'd be nice too

Very cool work. My few attempts at painting have ended in despair and disaster.

*shudders*

Never again, never again...

Yes. My best work has been borne from devastation and despair, particularly despair...

...
churchill spoke of "the black dog" (depression, despair?)
(it's usually through these dark nights we come to appreciate the morning light)
this blackness is usually equated with the primordial forces of chaos & it's usually expressed as feminine
(back to muses again?)

in the foreground i intended to paint a little grassy section with a little homestead type thing.. a type of outpost, a last bastion of "life" contrasted against that sombre desolate cityscape that looms in the distance like some approaching wildfire

(the lego movie)

mark twain was a shameless self-promoter
