Lefties, much like gingers, lack a soul. which is why most gun makers don't consider them when designing arms....

kidding aside, i dunno, it SEEMS like the ergonomics would still allow for it to dump the recoil into the arm in a normal fashion...

if i had the money, i'd pick one up, and let you know for sure...

I don't see how the season would have much influence on that criterion.

Cold whether tends to change a few things on how people carry, manipulate the controls of, and fire their weapons. Seasons do matter when it comes to firearms.

Carrying in the summer, for me, is much easier. Manipulating the controls with nice, warm hands, and firing the weapon repeatedly is far easier. In the cold muscles tend to stiffen up. Carrying becomes problematic because now you have a cold ass piece of metal up against your skin. So you have to dress appropriately. An undershirt, or simply and OWB holster and your jacket can do the concealing. Maybe even in a large pocket.

Seasons, like certain social situations, determine a lot about how weapons are carried. Sometimes whether they are even carried at all.

well, again, if you favor a medium to large framed pistol, for it's ergonomics, and ease of use with gloves, that's great....and if you're wearing gloves, chances are it's cold, and you're wearing plenty of clothing, which is gonna keep it hidden....

in the summer, you're wearing a lot less...that same pistol is gonna stick out, and some perpetually frightened busybody is gonna call the cops, and the next thing you know, you're getting either jacked up, or killed..

if you pack a 9mm, and you want to stay with that round, that's great..keep it in 9, and you practice with whatever you're carrying at the time. simple.

That's how and if you carry not what you carry. You already said that you don't base your choice of what you carry on the season.

I just see a certain level of pretentiousness in the seasonal idea, if there actually is one. If I carried a weapon I would carry the lightest, easiest to handle one which would do the job. No matter the season.

*I* don't make changes because the weapon I typically carry fits all of my particular needs and wants.

Other choose to carry different kinds and styles of weapons to suit them in these situations.

meh...maybe i'm just not fashionable...

i've got a custom compact .45, for home defense....i put a light on the rail......it's kinda chewed up...most people would think it's f**k ugly, but i think it looks kinda cool, and it does it's job..i put function over form any day.

Sure and that makes sense to you and I. To others different weapons would serve the same purpose under different conditions.

There's some old adage about the gun you you choose to carry being the best gun, I can't remember how it goes. The gun you have with you is better than the gun you left at home... Or whatever.

It's like a camp stove. When you're backpacking you want the lightest thing that will cook food. When you're car camping you want something that cooks food fast and can cook more.

I was rather amused by the gun fashion idea.

Exactly my thought as well.

I know someone's going to say "so the bad guys don't know I have a gun", but any smart bad guy is going to already assume everyone near is packing, at least I would.

It reminds me a lot of the S&W Bodyguard. With out the slide locks and such which I personally prefer a side arm to have slide locks. That's why I chose the TCP over the LCP when I purchased carry guns for my wife and I.



If it is built anything internally like the Taurus TCP then it will be a great little gun. I have one and have put 200 to 300 rounds through it with out as much of a hiccup, the same for my wifes TCP. Most of Taurus guns are not very good and for this reason many folks judge all Taurus guns as crap. They do however have a few gems that are great. Generally the USA built guns are your better of the lot. Being this is a USA built gun, it's more than likely build along side the TCP with a lot in common. For this reason I am interested in looking more into this weapon.

I personally have 2 different "seasonal" guns I conceal in Michigan. In the fall/winter/early spring I wear a carhart jacket, which is phenomenal to canceal an underam holster. When it chillier like this I can get away with my colt commando 1911, slightly shorter 1911 .45. Not even close to a "short" model carry gun and sticks out like a soar thumb no matter how I try to conceal it WITHOUT the cahart.

In the warmer months however.... And even sometimes when I just grab a flannel I have a diamon back .380 pocket plinker.. A mini glock nock off from Florida.. Most inaccurate and unreliable pistol I've ever used.... Even jams about 50% of the time when racking her to "hot"

ID STILL RATHER HAVE a COMEPLETELTY concealed mediocre pistol then be the first target for some guy who loses his ish. Carrying a 1911 with 3 mags(25 Rounds of .45) I feel A LOT more comfortable then when I carry the little plinker except for when the 45 is not concealed.

Concealment and surprise are you responsibility. First of all... It's just a dick move to walk around the grocery like your a CIA agent or something. I know a guy who carries a concealed "AR pistol" with a 75 round mag in a backpack almost everywhere he goes... Now when things go real bad you better believe that dudes gonna be way better off "squared off" with a threat BUT my nice little ninja .380 that's mediocre as all hell will EASILY drop a person from a few feet IF IM IN IMMEDIATE danger.

Seasonal carry also changes your strategies... When I'm carrying the .45 I have much less anxiety about exits and always knowing where escapes are.. 25 rounds of .45 out of a 1911 will make you a hell of an escape path if need be.. 6 shots from a .380.... Not so much.. So when I carry the plinker I'm always aware of where exits are.. Where offices are... Where the money is.. Always aware of shadedogs and just plain people making weird decisions to get close.. The little .380 is an anxiety ridden carry for me... But way less then just carrying a blade. And if it came down to using it, you better believe that retreating is my number one option.. A small plinker like the OP or my carry should be treated as a "hold out" defensive weapon.. Get yourself around a corner defended or into an office or just whatever and use it only in the event of a direct threat coming to effect you safety.

The .45 on the other hand... I'm concernead with not only my family and myselfs safety I have more confidence that I could face an equal or above threat with her. She puts some energy down range and accurately. I'm not out looking to be a vigilante wile carrying but I'm not going to let someone else lose their life if I can help it... With a .380 pocket plinker... Retreating tactically is your best bet...

Sorry I'm sure a lot of this seems obvious but the idea of a "seasonal" gun always seemed obvious to me.



I'd like to just respond to the AR question phage had real quick too... Ya carrying one would probably make you a deadlier threat to someone else should the need arise... But lemme put it this way... If I'm robbing the grocery or the bank... First one shot will be the guy wearing the big AR. Surprise rocks in warfare. COMEPLETELTY throws off strategies and gives you the upper hand. Surprise is much more valuable then actual caliber or power. Hell a "sharpie" is one of the more effective concel carry. Some companies have gutted sharpie markers and put very sharp pokers inside... Looks like a marker til you take our a jugular, yay surprise!
