There's a reason I suppose. It's classified past my pay grade now but the preliminary steps of the dance are still public data. Oddly enough, HAARP was the test bed for the preliminary studies. So it's finally responsible for something.

eta: even the HAARP studies were S at one time but a two star spilled the beans on a TV interview.

An alternator produces alternating current. A magneto produces direct current. Since Earth's magnetic field does not reverse in with any set frequency, magneto would be a better model to apply.

Doesn't explain the sharp division; high energy electrons here, none there.

Since the thread is about charged particles being trapped by Earth's magnetic field it is closely related. But a magnetic field doesn't have sharp boundaries. That's the puzzle that the scientists are working on.

He wasn't considering radio signals that were explicitly designed to do so. Nor sources inside the belt itself.

Start with AF05-036 and extrapolate forward. Or google Dr Helliwell and Siple Station, that's where the HAARP experiments in this began.

What does it have to do with the sharp boundary observed in the "storage belt?"

Previous theorists have assumed that the entire Core (or the Inner and/or Outer Core) rotates as a single flowing object within the Earth. (In the drawing here, the view is from the South Pole, with the outer circle representing the surface of the Earth.) If that were the case, then all of the charged (ionized) Iron material (represented here in yellow) would follow a relatively circular path around a single axis that we could call the Magnetic Axis.

Either the author doesn't understand the predominant theory or is blatantly attempting to create a strawman argument.
