Hello everyone..

I was reading through some of the threads that had been made concerning this subject matter, and I am currently interested in starting a similar thread: My intention is to hear, listen to, explore, and discover the Psychic/Paranormal experiences any or all of you may have had during the course of your lifetime; I would be interested in sharing some of my experiences as well..I wonder who would like to go first.. Any and all notions about Psychism and the Paranormal would be acceptable and fair game by the way..

Just a simple little one I may have mentioned before.

Playing Trivial Pursuit. A long time ago when the game had just been invented.

I was on my final move but my opponents didn't want to read the entertainment question because they felt it was too easy.

I said "what's the question, who's Fred Flintstone's next door neighbour?". And it was.

That kind of reminds me of one time when I was watching wheel of fortune with my mom when I was a teenager and the puzzle popped up "a person" and I didn't even look at the number of letters and just blurted out "Burt Reynolds" and it was...lol

I actually had almost the same experience with trivial persuit only it was the answer to a question that I knew absolutely nothing about but the number popped up in my head immediately.

The question was: When was the first public basketball game ever played?
The answer is 1892

I HATE basketball and most sports actually, so knowing this was not something I should know...lol

As my lady and I was traveling south on hiway 4, a cattle truck approached and continued north, and almost at the same time we mentioned that there was a terrible darkness around that truck.

On our way back home, we saw the cattle truck had missed a curve, killed both men in the truck and scattered dead, dying and mangled cattle all over the road. Tragic sight!

I've had many. One that sticks out is at a party and this voice started talking to me. I thought it was one of the party goers and turned to my right and asked "what did you say"? He looked at me and said " I didn't say anything to you". So I'm thinking Oh oh something is up here, the voice says "you have to stop it". I 'm thinking stop what? I have no idea what is going on. I step back away from the group and look around, then see it. This girl asked for a light for her cigarette and then ignored the guy that lit his lighter. Her hair was flicking back and forth over the flame while she was busy talking. I started towards her and screamed her hair, thats when her hair went up in flames. It all happened so fast it was terrorizing. One second she was talking and the next her head was covered in flames. I and others leaped on her and were beating her trying to put out the flames. We finally got it out,she only thank goodness ended up with melted ends.It could have been so much worse for her. All I got was a omg MY HAIR and she walked off pissed. Oh well, I did what I was supposed to.

-I can sense spirits so I can always tell when I'm coming close to a graveyard even before I seen anything to let me know one is coming up. I don't like going in graveyards and have only done so 3 times (When my Grandpa died & two visits since than to see Gram & Gramps) I also don't like going to places like museums or old buildings. When I was younger and didn't know how to "turn it down" it was very overwhelming, all their feelings bombarding me.

-When I cross over train tracks (only on foot) I notice the air get's heavier and a strange sensation of being in the wrong time hits me as well, that I shouldn't be in the past. It's a bit hard to explain the feelings but I know I'm also picking up on spirits that died on the tracks and feeling like I'm in that time period that they died.

-When I've been meditating for several days straight in a row and for extended periods during each day, I can see aura's, the wind as energy moving through me & the sun as energy moving through me.

-I have this thing that my Mom calls "Heart Connected" where we can sense when something is wrong with the other person or that the other person wants to call you/you want the other person to call you & they will call. This isn't just something shared between my Mom and I. I've also been "heart connected" with my younger sister (we've since grown apart), My Fiance and I also have this connection too. Example: My Mom knew every time my Dad was in a car accident, 3 times he hit a deer, only one of them he wasn't the driver, ((He drove semi all around Alberta)) before he would call to tell her. She could also think about how she really wants my Dad to call and he would ((She demonstrated this to some friends one time))

I think there is more that I'm missing but I'm on a deadline to post this as I have to get dinner cooking.

What do each of you believe your experiences mean and signify..? Do you feel guided then by some kind of higher power, that sends out warnings or messages or informations that you are each meant to have and topossess.. Also then, what do you do later, to continue to cultivate this connection with this Higher Power, to ensure that you remain in touch with it and in touch with yourself at all times.. It seems as though some people have a great deal of protection, from the looks of these experiences that is; The insight you have all received is something to be valued, and respected..

I'll share my first experience with what I feel was a paranormal encounter. This was way back in February 1991. Me and a few friends became Christians in the month prior - January 1991.

I grew up an atheist so had no idea about spiritual entities or God or Devil of anything like that. Anyway a group of us were sitting in my old bedroom at my parents place, funnily enough, watching The Exorcist as we thought we were learning about combating spirits. Suddenly the blinds (heavy aluminium ones) at the window just elevated far beyond anything of their capability. Several of us just looked and thought WTF? Now let me explain, I made some mental notes I won't forget. The window was slgihtly opened but it is a horizontal sliding window and it was only open a couple of inches at most. It was a warm summer calm night outside with absolutely no breeze at all. My old bedroom is dowstairs where it is shielded from the wind by the hill just meters away - even on a very windy day with the window fully opened the blinds only rattle about. This calm and warm summer night however, they just suddenly elevated upward and inward of the room. Freaky stuff to watch at the time.

When I was 9 years old, my dad said he needed some smokes, my mom said she would drive to the store to get them and a few other things, I begged her to let me go with her, but no, it was a school night and she wouldn't let me. My 3 year old brother goes with her, standing in the front seat ( there were no car seats in the early 70's ).

I go to bed and am worried, I've already told my other brother to wake up something has happened to mom we have to go, the phone rings next, my dad says let's go kids your mom has had an accident. I was like " Is she dead?" No, he said, they didn't say how bad it is.

She was hit from the side I would have been sitting on holding my younger brother, he was not harmed, she had a little glass in her head, but okay. The guy ran a red light and hit her in the intersection. This is my first psychic experience, I've had more since.

Had physic experiences.... I can get into detail about them. Suffice it to say that the approx. 8 month relationship with the entity ended badly.

Found Jesus! Have been trying to walk with Him over the course of many years. Yes there is a relationship. Jesus loves everyone the same, so He's available to you as well. Nothing but good things to say about this, plus have the assurance of life eternal later on. The bible says: "If God be for us, who can be against us?" Sweeeeet!!

Makes me trust my intuition more, like with conspiracies.

I don't make any connection to spirituality or higher powers from it, but it more fits into my perception of everything being connected holographically.

I've experimented with certain aspects of psychic phenomenon, both through mediums and by myself and am sure of unseen forces at work but I consider them to be a function of quantum entanglement and not religious or faith based.

The explanation for these phenomenon lays within the powers of the human brain and which medical science can barely scratch the surface of.

I have several paranormal experiences. Many of which are already documented here at ATS in various threads. So instead of rehashing all those experiences here... I will just share my most recent paranormal experience.

Recently, my father in law died. It was an emotional time for everyone in the family, and my husband has a very large family. It was difficult for all of my children as this was their first funeral, and it hit the youngest children hard. It was a stark realization for them. Papa died, and someday Daddy would die to.

So there was lots of questions. Is papa gone? Is he in heaven? Is he around us like an angel? I answered the questions as best I could... when the light in the dining room started blinking. On and off, on and off. So myself and the boys would fall silent and watch it and it would stop. I'd start talking again about some of the theories people have about what happens when you die, but no one really knows for sure until they themselves are dead. The light starts blinking again as we are talking.

My youngest boy who is 5 said, "Mama, I think that is papa trying to tell us he's here. Watching over us." Then my 7 year old pipes up and says, "Yes, it is. I can smell the stuff he puts on his face."

So I told them, "There you have it. Just because our bodies die, doesn't necessarily mean they are gone. Who knows what happens to our soul, our mind, that thing that tells us right from wrong and helps us dream at night. Maybe that survives on." The lights start blinking again.

A few days later, as our van had died on the day Papa died, my husband's brother was at the house to give us a ride to the funeral home for the viewing. We were waiting for the kids to get their shoes and coats on, and were reminiscing about Papa, when the lights start flickering in the dining room again. It hadn't happened since my conversation with the boys, and here it was again, flickering just as we were talking about him.

Later in the week, after the funeral service - I learned that it wasn't only us who were experiencing the flickering lights. Both of my sister in law's, who'd come in from out of state, had to deal with flickering lights at the hotel. There were other little signs other siblings of my husband also received.

Could it all have been a coincidence? I'm sure that will be the skeptics go to. But for us, and my family, it was confirmation that even in death, the spirit lives on.
