I have several paranormal experiences. Many of which are already documented here at ATS in various threads. So instead of rehashing all those
experiences here... I will just share my most recent paranormal experience.
Recently, my father in law died. It was an emotional time for everyone in the family, and my husband has a very large family. It was difficult for all
of my children as this was their first funeral, and it hit the youngest children hard. It was a stark realization for them. Papa died, and someday
Daddy would die to.
So there was lots of questions. Is papa gone? Is he in heaven? Is he around us like an angel? I answered the questions as best I could... when the
light in the dining room started blinking. On and off, on and off. So myself and the boys would fall silent and watch it and it would stop. I'd start
talking again about some of the theories people have about what happens when you die, but no one really knows for sure until they themselves are dead.
The light starts blinking again as we are talking.
My youngest boy who is 5 said, "Mama, I think that is papa trying to tell us he's here. Watching over us." Then my 7 year old pipes up and says, "Yes,
it is. I can smell the stuff he puts on his face."
So I told them, "There you have it. Just because our bodies die, doesn't necessarily mean they are gone. Who knows what happens to our soul, our mind,
that thing that tells us right from wrong and helps us dream at night. Maybe that survives on." The lights start blinking again.
A few days later, as our van had died on the day Papa died, my husband's brother was at the house to give us a ride to the funeral home for the
viewing. We were waiting for the kids to get their shoes and coats on, and were reminiscing about Papa, when the lights start flickering in the dining
room again. It hadn't happened since my conversation with the boys, and here it was again, flickering just as we were talking about him.
Later in the week, after the funeral service - I learned that it wasn't only us who were experiencing the flickering lights. Both of my sister in
law's, who'd come in from out of state, had to deal with flickering lights at the hotel. There were other little signs other siblings of my husband
also received.
Could it all have been a coincidence? I'm sure that will be the skeptics go to. But for us, and my family, it was confirmation that even in death, the
spirit lives on.
