What Being a Mate of the British PM Does for You

So your found guilty of hacking the phones of the rich and famous , murdered school girls and politicians looking for salacious stories and title-tattle to fill the pages of the rag you run , what happens ?
You're sent to prison of course , but if you're a mate of the British PM not only do you only serve 5 months of your 18 month sentence but you also get to serve those 5 months in a prison known by inmates as Holiday Bay because its soft , some would say lax regime.

Dennis Driver, Chairman of Hollesley Parish Council, said: "The prisoners seem to just walk in and out as they like.
"They aren't allowed sharp items or animals but who knows if they are checked. The security does seem to be a bit lax. I'm sure all sorts of stuff is smuggled in there.

Former News of the World editor Andy Coulson has left Holiday Bay prison to serve the remaining 4 months of his sentence at home under what the MOJ call "home detention arrangements" , the reason he's only got 4 months left to serve is because over here you only have to serve half of the sentence you receive if you behave yourself.

No doubt there will be those out there who will defend the sentence and early release and claim it's nothing to do with his relationship to Dave but for me it's just another example of one rule for them and another for the rest of us , a prime example of the old boy network at work.

Makes me sick!

Theres a politician here in Ireland, Ivor Callely, who fiddled his expenses and received a prison term of 5 months. Now that was bad enough, not a big enough sentence.
He then applied for enhanced remission, or temporary release, and would you believe the court gave him bail while they made a decision!!!!!!

Jailed former politician Ivor Callely has been granted bail pending his High Court action aimed at overturning a refusal to grant him temporary release from prison.

One rule for "them" and another for the rest of us!

Its normal to consider parole after a person has served half their time in the nick as it costs a metric crap ton of cash to keep someone locked up and quite often if they're of no threat to society (not a nutter with a love of sawn off's and sheepskin coats going by the name of big vern - viz readers know what i mean) then they can be released under license which means that they're free but at the slightest feeling from the prison service/plod etc then you're back inside

and technically if ther sentence is over 5 years you lose the ability to own a gun (even a low powered air rifle) but you can appeal to a judge and get them to restore that right as if you got 6 years for fraud its not like you're a threat if given a gun

Indeed but to serve less than 5 months of an 18 month sentence makes a mockery of the justice system , there are victims in his crime who have had their privacy and grief intruded upon and splashed across the pages of one of Britain's best selling Sunday papers by this person , how are they to feel they've got justice when not only his sentence is curtailed but the place where he served that sentence is a place where the conditions likened to a holiday camp.

And to serve said sentence in what amounts to a holiday camp with guards is hardly synonymous with justice nether. Send him to Wormwood Scrubs, give it a day or two and he will be screaming for his mommy!

A deal was made for sure. Andy took the punishment for a whole group of people. He was the scape goat. Others who were a lot more guilty escaped justice entirely.

I compare it to the Mafia side kick who takes the rap and if he keeps his mouth shut a future opportunity will present itself as a comfortable reward within the organisation for doing the time and keeping one's mouth shut.

The only casualties of the whole scandal was Andy and NOTW newspaper. The real masterminds of the whole affair are unscathed by this. Miss Curly Tots Red Hair is still sitting pretty.

It is not that he is The PM's friend. It is an arranged outcome decided upon by many powerful people involved.

There is one law for some and another for others. So it continues...

Justice is a joke that way. They are all above the law if they have the protection. Of course if they step out of line there is always a weapon of blackmail and death by media to use. That world is a world of control. You HAVE to stay in line and do what you are told. There is a chain of command.
