Loretta Lynch Wiki

Loretta Elizabeth Lynch (born May 21, 1959) is the current United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York. She has served her current tenure as U.S. Attorney since 2010, having previously held the position from 1999-2001. As U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, Lynch oversees federal prosecutions in Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and Long Island. On November 7, 2014, it was announced that President Barack Obama planned to nominate her to succeed U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder as the next Attorney General of the United States.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and American literature from Harvard College in 1981 and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 1984.

Lynch first joined the Eastern District as a drug and violent crime prosecutor at the U.S. Attorney's office in 1990. .... From 1994 to 1998, she served as the chief of the Long Island office ... From 1998 to 1999, she was the chief assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District and headed the Brooklyn office. In 1999, she was nominated by President Bill Clinton to serve as the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York. In 2001, Lynch left the office to become a partner at Hogan & Hartson (later Hogan Lovells). From 2003 to 2005, she was a member of the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. She remained there until January 20, 2010, when President Barack Obama nominated Lynch to again serve as United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York.

NY Daily News - US Attorney Loretta Lynch To Replace Eric Holder

Lynch, 55, would become the nation’s first black female attorney general if approved by the Senate. Holder announced his departure in September....

The nation is about to meet Loretta Lynch for the first time — but in the five boroughs, she is already known for her character, toughness and uncompromising sense of justice,” said Mayor de Blasio.

Former federal prosecutor George Stamboulidis, a longtime Lynch colleague, said she was the absolute right person for the job.

“She is somebody who has the poise and the confidence, and not the overinflated ego,” said Stamboulidis, now in private practice with BakerHostetler. “She’s all about doing the right thing and getting it right for the right reasons.”

Ms. Lynch's resume looks good. Her co-workers give her glowing reviews. Maybe we'll get lucky and she won't be a corrupt mess like Holder. She's on the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee and considered 'close' to Holder so we'll have to keep an eye on this. He's corrupt and a bigot. Hopefully she isn't.

Side note - Al Sharptons input was given to Obama before the pick -
Daily Caller

An MSNBC host may have just chosen the next attorney general of the United States ... Obama met with Sharpton at the White House Wednesday, less than a full day after his party lost the midterm elections. Sharpton has previously revealed that his National Action Network was working with the White House on replacing Holder.

Just my 2, but I think she'll be another Holder. Obama is not going to appoint someone he can't control.

If the race pimp Big Al has anything to do with it you know she will be a carbon copy of Holder.
This is not good, and will not turn out good.

This is pretty much all we need to know.

She was with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and she has Al Sharptons seal of approval. I'm not overly hopeful that this will go well.

So true isn't it . When you look at what revolving doors they travel through then you have to wonder if maybe their loyalties might be there . a reply to: watchitburn

Let me preface this by saying I have no problem with anyone going after Rep Grimm. I appreciate US Attorney Lynch going after corruption. I do have a problem with timing. This Administration seems to always have the timing of bombshells favor them. Example 64,000 documents finally make their way to the House the eve before the elections.

The timing of the expected Grimm indictment also couldn’t be worse for Republicans. The filing deadline for that race has closed, meaning GOP leadership could be stuck with him on the ballot come Election Day.

US Attorney was Loretta Lynch.

With the recommendations she is receiving,

I think a decline might be the correct play.

This could ruin her career.

We should not be surprised. Obama has a flair for seeking out people for his high-level jobs that nobody has heard about.

Of course, it is easy for him to make his selections because he seems to ignore the larger 80 per cent of the population and look for people of color to fill his slots. Maybe she is amply qualified, but you, know, I gotta pull the race card here with this appointment. He sorta has set me up to make that connection. Need I say, don't mention it in public discourse?
