What causes us to recognise a "thing" for instance - I can look at a calculator, and I know that it is a discreet object that has a "purpose" - to
perform sums. If I did not recognise it as a "thing" then in a way, I would not even know what it was.
There are many objects in our realm of experience, and each are connected to a variety of our thoughts. Think of that calculator, and now, think of
the world and the millions of "things" that we recognise - all of this is performed by the brain.
Amazing is it not?
