CNN uses "b/c"

Is it just me or is CNN using internet slang?

I've found CNN has some of the most horrid writers for their internet articles....They simply have no understanding of the English language and they make their readers out to be fools....

I must admit that they do at least try to cover a wide array of world issues and topics....unfortunately, they often miss the meat and bones of the entire event they cover in their write-ups....

It appears to be a direct quote from an e-mail or letter.

Pitts wrote that Wilson told him he "felt good b/c he took his...."

Strange considering how much they hate bloggers.
