there's little doubt it was something to do with the engines - it usually is with rockets because that's where all the actin is.
But apart from that....what? the engines aer old? Yeah - ":so what?" remains my point - they do not get reused, so they are old and also brand new
- and tested and refurbished to account for any aging.
