The Voice Italy' Singing Nun Releases Debut Single… And It's a Madonna Cover

Sister Cristina released her newest song cover, Madonna's 'Like A Virgin', and changes it from the pop song popular back in the 80's to a very decent romantic ballad.

Amusingly/somewhat sacrilegiously, Sister Cristina's debut single, released Monday, is a remake of Madonna's controversial smash, "Like a Virgin." Yes, you read that right. Not "Like a Prayer," which would have at least made some sense, but "Like a Virgin."

Sister Cristina responds:

"I chose it with no intention to provoke or scandalize. Reading the text, without being influenced by previous interpretations, you discover that it is a song about the power of love to renew people, to rescue them from their past," she explained. "And this is the way that I wanted to interpret it. For this reason, we have transformed this song from the pop-dance piece which it was, into a romantic ballad, a bit like the ones by Amos Lee. Something more similar to a lay prayer, than to a pop piece."

Story

I don't know Home, something about this is all wrong. I don't know if it's the imagery in the video, the duality of a Nun singing "Like a Virgin". Something just doesn't sit right with me.

Maybe I've looked into the illuminati connections with Hollywood and the music industry to much so I just question it automatically. For, some reason her rings stand out, a black one on her left hand and a gold one on the right. That added with her hand movements kept drawing my attention to it. Something about her smile almost make her horns visible. I'm not saying she is a demon, or even part of their plan, just that there is something that bothers me. She says they chose it innocently enough, but record execs are always pushing the agenda, so my alarms might just be sensitive.

I can't put my finger on it.

Right on... Don't get me wrong, she can song like a mofo. She killed it on this song. I enjoyed it. Like I said, I just have a weird feeling about it.

You have to admit, an actual Nun singing Like a Virgin has soo many levels to it. l remember the Madonna video to this song, and let's just say Sex Sells. Porn Directors everywhere are right now are saying "I made that movie". Naughty virgin Nun is a slutty Halloween costume you could go but at WalMart today. It's not a new idea.

You posted it because of the what, the beauty of her voice? Or was there more that ran through mind? Controversy breeds Conspiracy my friend. I'm sure there is nothing nefarious about it , it just felt strange to me.

There is another song (not by her) that has something in that recording that makes the hair on my arms stand up. Within the 1st 3 notes um already reacting to it and it happens everyone I hear it. Maybe it's the key she songs it in... Who knows... Thanks for the intro to it though!

She is a wonderful singer!! I didn't think nuns would be allowed to be making music videos. Interesting.

I've loosely followes sister Cristina since I found her videos that were posted on here actually. I posted because she has a beautiful voice, alot of energy and has alot of faith in her worship and witnessing. She feels her talent is a gift to be given freely to show the gifts God bestows on everyone. I read in an interview since she took a vow of poverty like most nuns, any money she makes for her album sales goes to her convent and their missions. I say its a great way to do things
