Back in August there were claims that terrorist groups would be taking advantage of ebola and had planned on spreading it to various countries with 3000 students. The ebola "martyrs" claim may have some substantial truth behind it as we see 10 people die in Venezuela. Russia is closing its boarders over this particular situation and it seems that this thing could get pretty hairy. Read these articles and tell me what you think.

If Venezuela did have 10 cases of ebola it would seem their government is making a cover up. From the symptoms described it would seem that ebola would actually be the cause.

I have always thought there are more cases of Ebola that are not being reported....just kept on the "down low" so to speak.

And now there are these "other" illnesses coming to the surface.

What is really going on is the $1 million $$$ question??

Is hard to get an infected people from oversea to the US, because of the fast incubation and deterioration of the person infected.

Duncan was a prime example that ebola once get your body by the time you move from one country to the other one you will be to sick to be ignored and the symptoms are for everybody to see.

So I find the idea of ebola martyrs hard to swallow.

But that isn't true. On average people show symptoms between 8-10 days. You can show symptoms up to 42 days after getting it.

Still is not easy to get into a plane from oversea and come to the US that easily, you need visas, permits, other documentation, Duncan came to the US because US has special favors when it comes to visas for Liberia.

Now things are getting more hard for any country oversea to get into the US without ebola screening.

Now if they try to come across the border is still the problem of incubation time and how long it will take to move from one country to the other one.

If you are talking about homegrown terrorist Americans coming back into the US infected as martyrs is still the fact that now anybody coming from oversea be American or not they still will be screened for ebola.

Yes but "screening" for ebola just requires a thermometer. It's arguable now that people might even get fevers and let alone show any symptoms before the incubation is over. The screening system in place is a joke.

Check this article out. Putin is making some bold claims against obama.

Ebola is a real disease and it's in West Africa and has killed a few thousand.

But, now, it has arrived on our soil where it has never been before. Did it really arrive with Duncan?

Two doctors in Africa, who were supposedly sticklers for proper protocol, contracted it and we brought them home to Atlanta, home of the CDC, to be treated. That started the initial response. Americans (rightly so) reacted to our government's decision to bring a killer virus into our country. Reaction noted by Administration.

Now, Duncan comes in. More hyper reaction. Noted again.

Now, two nurses supposedly come down with it, one even allowed to get on a commercial flight cross-state. More hyper hyper-reaction. American's response duly noted.

#1 - Everything appears as it is. Nothing to see here, folks, move along. We have it under control.

Or:
#2 - Bioterrorists were/are loosed in our country, and to keep people from panicking, a false scenario has been staged to make it seem like an accidental exposure.

Or:
#3 - It all has to do with overloading the healthcare system in order to implement Phase II of Obama's agenda. Researching his so-called "Ebola czar" will make you wonder about this one for sure.

Or:
#4 - Create mass panic as "ebola" spreads, giving them an excuse to deploy military response teams. I have my own thoughts on why this might be on the agenda, but that's for another discussion.

The U.S. military is forming a 30-person "quick-strike team" equipped to provide direct treatment to Ebola patients inside the United States, a Defense Department official told CNN's Barbara Starr on Sunday. A Pentagon spokesman later confirmed portions of the official's information. The team will be under orders to deploy within 72 hours at any time over the next month, the official said. The Department of Health and Human Services requested the military team, and the Pentagon has given verbal approval, the official said.

The team will include five doctors, 20 nurses and five trainers, Pentagon press secretary Rear Adm. John Kirby said in a statement. The Pentagon has been working to determine what assistance it could offer the civilian health care sector following a White House meeting last week during which President Barack Obama said he wanted a more aggressive response, according to two Defense officials.

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel ordered chief of the Northern Command, Gen. Chuck Jacoby, "to prepare and train a 30-person expeditionary medical support team that could, if required, provide short-notice assistance to civilian medical professionals in the United States," Kirby said. Jacoby is already working with the military on the joint team, Kirby said, and once formed, it will head to Fort Sam Houston in Texas for up to seven days of training in infection control and personal protective equipment. The training, provided by the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases, will begin "within the next week or so," Kirby said. The team will remain in "prepare-to-deploy" status for 30 days, he said. It will be able to respond anywhere in the U.S. if "deemed prudent by our public health professionals," he said.

Hello,
Those are good scenarios. Not to speak I'll of the dead.. but I've wondered if Duncan was a test.
The way it was handled and the response times of all involved makes one wonder.
now all of the short comings have been exsposed repairs are being made.
Just a thought.

That may be true but they could run it like a relay race. Start with one infected person or several, in one country, travel to the next country on the way to their final destination and "pass the baton" so to speak. Swap a little spit and the next team member is off and running to the next runner.

Enter multiple teams in the race, stagger your starts... by the time team member 2 meets team member 3 you should know if team member 1 is symptomatic or not.

Imagine a warehouse south of our border, filled with runners waiting to be infected and clean rooms filled with ebola carriers incubating the disease
