Found this interesting. The former slave was buried in a Confederate uniform and drew a pension based on his service to the Confederacy. His grave had been unmarked until there was a petition sponsored by Sons of Confederate Veterans. Strange. Strange. Strange.

Wow very unique story. Thanks for posting. Im sure there were many slaves sadly that had to serve masters in some fashion in the war.

Glad to hear he'll be recongnized and have a marker placed.
