Well...here is a convenient way to infect a LOT more passengers than a flight....

Not really concerned about this one as she doesn't seem to be exhibiting any symptoms, but am concerned about how easily a cruise ship would be to infect a LOT of people. Cruises are often over 2 weeks long and house a few thousand people on them. So...get a single person in there and suddenly you have a floating virus ship. It has been reported time and again how quickly these ships spread a flu or virus, so why not ebola?

Source

A Dallas lab worker believed to have handled specimens from the Liberian man who became the first person to be diagnosed and die of Ebola on U.S. soil is quarantined aboard a cruise ship off the coast of Belize.

The Belize coast guard is not allowing the ship to dock or its passengers to disembark, although the unidentified woman is being monitored and has not shown symptoms, according to State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki. She was identified through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s effort to track everyone who came into contact with Thomas Eric Duncan, the man who died Oct. 8 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital after infecting at least two nurses who have been identified and are being treated.

But, but, they keep saying the risk is low and it's under control!? And that we are just hysterical fear mongerers.

This is insane. Once, if ever, this is over with - I can't see the CDC existing in it's current form. You don't play catch up with deadly pathogens.

Good luck to all aboard, let's hope to God she tests negative

I was reading this on Fox News and thought, if only we had a centralized department that handled disease control. They could have sent someone to the hospital to ensure health providers were properly outfitted and followed protocols. They could also ensure the quarantine of those workers so they aren't flying or taking cruises.

If only there was such an organization within the US.

OH SNAP! My thoughts have been the same all along, I think of it mixing with that cruise disease norvo or whatever it is, that would be disaster.

Oh man this is so contrived!!!

Was going to stay out of ebola headlines today but this one hits as the worst case scenario! *Curse word*
