There should be national and international protocols for responses to such symptoms. These should be made aware to the public and companies as well as medical places.

There should also be an international call to restrict travel to and from places of risk and non essential travel to and from such places banned.

Yes, that was scary, indeed. However, he called his doctor to report his symptoms and they advised him to call the CDC. It was the CDC who told the Dallas deputy to go to a clinic so you can't really blame him. It's crazy, right?

Kudos to the patient for calling ahead of time!

He went to a health care clinic and surprised them. They, in turn, had to get him transportation to the hospital. If the deputy had been sick with Ebola, he would have spread it all over the place. The Ottawa person is exhibiting more common sense.

No, the CDC advised him to go to the clinic. He gave a press conference and said this. It's unfortunate that most viewers only got a snippet of the press conference, unlike our local news.

Yes, the CDC told the Dallas deputy to go to the clinic. Moronic of them, isn't it? Because Ebola was new to USA there really weren't any set guidelines yet. Let's just say the scare here woke all the officials around the country up and made them scramble for a better plan.
