Report: Oklahoma City Hospital Isolates Patient Exhibiting Possible Ebola Symptoms

Oklahoma City hospital is reportedly treating a patient exhibiting possible Ebola symptoms.

KOKH-TV reports that Deaconess Hospital has isolated the patient after arriving to the hospital Thursday night. The Oklahoma State Health Department tells KOKH that the patient’s landlord was recently in West Africa.

Our medical infrastructure is not ready to handle this. People with symptoms are going to go get treatment and spread and spread and spread? Our way of life will encourage it, ever been to a daycare, a hospital, a school? Germ factories. All hope is lost... no really, but I think ebola is going to be a part of American life, and the lack of fear by most is because of the lack of knowledge of what's really happening in west Africa.

I know a lot of people read these articles to enjoy the doom porn. I actually am encouraged when they detain people who exhibit the symptoms, it means they are aware and are taking Ebola seriously.

What about the landlord? Didn't see mention of anything with that person. Maybe the other people in the building if it's more than one.

Thankfully this seems to be an actual display of 'an overabundance of caution.'

Officials said the patient has not traveled to West Africa and has not been in contact with anyone who has the Ebola virus. The patient reportedly said they had contact with someone who visited Africa, but it was not from one of the three "hot spots."

Its great that we are keeping up with the news of patients being on watch, as it is better than not knowing what is up with them. However it would seem there are now more non-ebola concerns than confirmations in the US so far with who has been put on watch. Good thing, I hope we as a nation dont start to blow it off as just the flu and get blind sided when its real.

Yes me too- I know a lot of folks prpably get a bit exasperated or even irritated by reports of suspected ebola cases that is then thankfully confirmed as negative-but it's still better to bear with it,and have authorities err on the side of caution.I am so relieved and happy for every individual spared this horror-but there will most likely be more cases outside of Africa,as is the case with the Spanish nurse,for instance.So I would rather have my heart sink when reading of a new suspected case,knowing that the relevant authorities Are erring on the side of caution-because with global travel,it's inevitable that there will be more cases,in the US and elsewhere.And nobody wants a repeat of the Thomas Duncan fiasco.a reply to: QuietSpeech

I still think there is something being kept from the public. This thing is spreading to fast for it to be contact transmission only.

The Zmap drug they used is gone. they are trying to produce more of it, with some shipments to Africa already occurring.
