Hat man thread

For the record, my wife just saw this (still shaking and trembling, but, she is not in anyway scared of anything, literally, but she was tonight~!) ‘phenomenon/entity’ tonight walking home, she literally felt it staring at her from across the street, then she looked and felt she knew this ‘entity’ and was somehow telepathically connected; but not really(?, she said it was hard to explain) she didn't receive any message other than she physically felt it before she saw it and after staring at each other, she felt as if she knew this ‘entity’ from her childhood.

As I was listening her story, it sounded like I've heard of this before, then it dawned on me, she just saw ‘The Slender Man’, when I showed her an image and a fedora, she said YES! THAT'S HIM ~!! Classic Slender Man outfit and character, at least 8ft tall minimum, faceless, Fedora hat, trench coat/duster, shadowy translucent.

I completely believer her, so now I’m entrenched to find out what exactly to expect from here, here’s what I got thus far in some light research on ATS.

---Sometimes shows up either before a traumatic experience or after, but not always..
---Tall very thin shadowy figure with either a wide brimmed hat or a Fedora
---Usually has a cape, trench coat or ‘poncho’ type coat
---Does nothing more that mostly observe,
---Minor accounts of him being malicious
---Faceless
---8ft tall minimum

Hat Man and I have a history, he's quite the character. Harmless but studious.

some say it is symbolic of Saturn, the hat man is in movies a lot, 7 psychopaths and dark city being two of my favs
i feel as a Jungian that he represents the shadow archetype of our psyche and all those animalistic (Evil) natures that are embedded in our DNA and therefore our psyches, so its all in your head!!! that phrase its all in your head.... means everything. as within so without, meaning anywhere you seek that is outwith you can find inside. the greatest men disappeared into fantastical imaginations with thoughts and fantasies.

Maybe we would be better asking a psychopath what's real, what if we are the insane because we cannot see the full picture, what if an advance in human evolution has us being able to see more of the layers of our conscious therefore our realities, if deemt is realeased by our brains to dream and on death then surely an advancement would see us being able to use this spirit molocule to facilitate our evolution.... Just a thought.

The hat man is a very odd entity. It was once a member of the Spanish Inquisition. Has since been dealt with.

That's a very interesting take on it, with the symbology. Some of which, i hadn't considered before. The Saturn bit caught my attention.
