That was such a silly line among many in an otherwise awesome movie.

There are people who believe that the photos show the real objects, there is not, I think that the pictures of the rover checked and abnormal leakage does not occur. Maybe it's an advertising company of NASA? Who knows?

Strange that NASA does not videos from the surface of Mars.
Transmitting a data packet is large enough for video.
The fact that NASA is hiding the truth.
Either they are going to draw a picture, or a game of imagination.
But this they did not show

Second that.

The implication was that it would be extremely hard to edit a NASA image and stuff it back in their official archive. Totally agree with that.
But, I do not get the "advertising of NASA" connotation.

The scale of this must be pretty big - they did a i res scan of it so they knew it was there, but it looks buried. The disk looks to be a platform or something with a destroyed structure on top and a debris field.
