Obama blames us citizens for the corrosion of this nation! I would like to point out that it is the massive distrust for the citizens of this nation that corrodes it. It is this massive distrust that leads to militarization of our police. It is the massive distrust of the citizens that pushes for police brutality and violation of our rights. It is the spying on everybody that corrodes our nation. Without all these intrusions and hostile actions toward the citizenry of the U.S. there would be less distrust. Does he really believe that it is OUR fault? Is he really standing up there pointing the finger at US? I can't believe there aren't riots over such statements. He is standing up there blaming the victim's of these vicious police. How dare he sit there and point the finger at us! People need to realize this is him saying that we have no right to complain and that we should just take it. He is standing there condoning the actions of these gestapo police.

Are you okay with our leader blaming us? Do you see what the tone of that statement says?

Our puppets and their masters are whats corroding this nation.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

It's more than a massive distrust of the citizenry. It's a fear of the American people. Nobody expends the amount of resources they have, over a long period of time, toward controlling a population unless they are afraid of them. If they had no fear of us, they wouldn't work so hard to keep us dumbed down and deceived.

Of course !!

He has to blame somebody for all the political/social failures and boondoggles.

And most people don't think they are responsible. And they are right.

But enough fingers keep getting pointed and that's what the politicians want.

Suspicions are a powerful weapon for authority.

The worst bit is that Obama doesnt believe what he's saying is true but he knows his audience will believe its true. So anybody speaking against the government will be scrutinised, vilified and probably branded a terrorist.

Oh and as far as your constitution goes, its toilet paper to them. Id be surprised if that document still exists in 50 years.

They know they are getting away with murder and like the dutch boy with too many fingers in the dyke, they are so fearful people will find out and revolt en masse.

After watching the "reprisals" in Boston and Ferguson I now know why American police departments and federal agencies have been stockpiling military vehicles, equipment and ammunition.

They are scared alright. I hope they lay awake in their beds at night like crack addicts, clutching the sheets and listening to every sound…

Are you new here?

Context is usually unimportant when it gets in the way of a good rant; at least for some on this site.

frankly I think it's a mutual issue distrust/disinterest in the people/government, partially since the government is made up of officials elected by the people, an apathetic voting public elects apathetic representatives who represent apathetically.

What makes you think you can just waltz in here and confuse this discussion with facts?

The president, the government, the people who hold the highest power, are citizens. Citizens run for office; citizens vote them in; citizens make the laws; citizens make up the entirety of a nation. Who else should we blame? Foreign interests?

Ya know, collage wasn't all worthless. The first day of my Political Science 101 at the University of Illinois the undergrad instructor told us the first law of the theory of political science in a short sentence:

Text" Key words there is that little word "any" and that other one "domestic."

Now go back to sleep. You aren't being abused more than anybody else (more or less). Well, anyway, it used to be that way.

Oh well, regardless of who he is blaming, it is the distrust of the citizenry of this nation that corrodes the USA.

From the article I read it sure sounded like our mistrust of the police is responsible for the corrosion of this country. I will go read a couple other articles on it though.

The biggest problem here is that we are all looked at as criminals

Corporate mouthpieces are not citizens! They are treasonous criminals that are bought and paid for. They are possessions (assets) of the rich.

If governments have done nothing wrong, they have nothing to hide, therefore they no need to distrust the citizenry. When governments distrust their citizens its because they have something to hide. They fear the citizenry might find out.

I think it was one of Hitlers offsiders who said something about truth is the mortal enemy of the lie (and therefore by extension, of the government.)

Citizens have every right to question everything after seeing what liars run the US gov.. The whole system is corrupt.

Blaming the police for crime, blaming Bush for problems, blaming republicans, blame blame blame

But then again, if the TPOTUS was a republican, they'd be blaming the dem's.

All this is a show to distract from what they're ALL doing together, which mostly isn't in the interest of the taxpayers.

If the gov wasn't worried then why are they so interested in spying on citizens? People are on to them....It seems the rats are getting nervous...
