Wow, interesting story! Can you tell us what the atmosphere was like? (I mean the air.)
And how long did it take for everything to get back to normal? (I mean before you could see the sky normal, etc.)
Please, tell us more!

You had to use a wet cloth over your mouth if you ventured outside. Most of us stayed in until the next morning. We were lucky (sort of) It was a typhoon that blew the ash our way and it was clear the next morning except for the 1 1/2 foot of ash that covered everything and collapsed a lot of houses. That stuff was heavy when wet, 123 pounds a cubic foot! And it was bad for the electronics and hoses in your car. We also got to see what the jungle looked like with no leaves, Like here in Iowa in the Fall. It took a couple of weeks before the roads were clear enough to be able to go anywhere to get supplies.

One thing I'll never forget is the orange lightning and the quakes that threw me out of bed. Scary stuff.

Your description of the ground sounds a lot like what I saw in the dream.

The whole ground was covered in what looks like dark snow and as my parents tread through it to get to the dogs (who I could not even see or hear!) I could hear their labored footsteps in whatever substance that was.
Kind of a crispy sound? Hard to describe exactly. I had the door cracked open as I watched them as best I could. I recall holding my breath so as not to breath in the air.
My dad turned at one point (he was near the door) and I could see his face because of the LED light on his forhead. He had a scowling, disgusted/angry look on his face. (Maybe the air stank? Or maybe he too was holding his breath?)

Oh, and another word that comes to mind in relation to the substance on the ground and floating through the air was WISPY. (sort of flaky)... some snow has that consistency...

Also: I thought I could hear the wind flapping against my parents winter coats (which we don't even own because in Memphis, sure, it gets cold... but it's not like, say, Boston in the winter lol) ... but I could not SEE the movement of the wind in the thick air. I could just see in the LED light area the pieces of junk floating around. It really did look like floating... as if in water.

Crazy dream
I had a dream recently that involved a very DARK darkness if that makes sense, unnatural lighting. Very freaky!

Yes, the air stank like sulphur and it messed with your lungs. The ground was crunchy because the ash was not flakes like a fire but actually tiny abrasive particles of pumice. I still have a ziploc bag full of it. Yours could be a dream about a volcano. Sounds pretty close to what I experienced.
I think the ash would have floated down for us if it wasn't wet. it's actually pretty light when dry.

(I have goosebumps reading some of your replies!)

I'd like to add, that the air felt different even in the house. All windows were closed, of course . And the only time the door was opened was when my parents ventured out. But that was a brief second.
Being inside felt like being outside. So cold!
Unfortunately with the dream, I couldn't give the true time (winter? fall? day? night?)

I think there's something in the news about Mt. St. Helens ready to blow. I'm sure there's a thread about it here on ATS. People here are very quick.

PS: I have no idea if Mt. St. Helens is one of the "big ones". I'm pretty dumb when it comes to volcanos/calderas/etc. I'll look it up.

Mt. St. Helens blew back in the 80s. It was big for Washington and especially the town near its base but it wasn't a catastrophe for the country. We had some interesting and beautiful sunsets here in the east. Near the mountain which blew out sideways the land was devastated by falling ash and the force of the blast. A lot of people were killed. So yes a big deal for Washington. A terrible ordeal for Washington but not the results the OP dreamed about with freezing temperatures and ash a foot high. It covered everything and wrecked cars but it was inches deep. The whole country did mourn the loss of life and it was hugh in the news for a long time.

I read the Mt. St. Helens blew 10 years ago... so in the 90s. Is this a different event that the one you're talking about?

I had this dream, this morning. It was brief and I think it took place a few days later because the veil of darkness had thinned out, and you could only make out the shape of the full moon and or sun just starting to set in the western sky.

I wish I had time to share , while I am in complete awe. I have to get up in less than 8 hours, so I will have to add at another time.

My brother also said what I described from my dream sounded like a volcanic winter.

Are other people having this dream?

Perhaps remote viewing of a volcanic eruption in japan. Whole houses were buried in 20cm of ash

Last summer a small tornado dropped boxes from a fish packing plant on my front lawn.

Water spouts and free fish. Besides the squirrels tossing pine cones on the neighbors roof with a clatter and the errant dust devil at the flea market, we have not rain, nor lightning, not thunder, hi winds, spoutnados, hail, hurricanes, snow, sleet, ice, or freezing temperatures. Three hundred days of the year there is sun and balmy temperatures.

Nope, all we get in this part of California is…. dun dun dun dunnn, earthquakes. Been through a few of those. You want your stuff tossed, move to California. I bet you prefer the storms?

Interesting! Can't wait to read your account. Do update me when you post it.
Maybe you're right. I bet if enough people were surveyed, or saw this thread, we'd find others having these strange "dark days" dreams. I think a lot of people avoid this forum though. lol

PS Virginia got a very rare earthquake a couple of years ago. We are an equal opportunity state when it comes to disasters.
PPS Don't even get me started on squirrels and pine cones. The buggars.

Why is the fact that I posted a dream that actually did come true just being ignored? I'd think it would be of interest to some at least but gosh no takers.

hi usehername.

your dream has the, for me, the absolute ring of truth, feel, to it!
I note now for years, many people have disaster dreams where I can tell the dreamer's dreamed disaster only reflects the problems in their own lives!
I do not sense any such emotional involvements here, with life problems. I too, have had visions where I have seen a photographic future scene, and it comes true down to the last pixel.

but just *what* are you seeing?
my weather training, in college, might give a clue.
I think it is daytime, you all are up and about, even when dark the circadian sleep patterns would have you awake. but it is dark. not quite. you might be seeing the sun shining through ash clouds. the ash colors the light so you see a strange light. the dust and ash probably is 60,000+ feet thick.

Yellowstone, in its old eruptions, put down over a foot of ash all across Kansas and other states.
the fact your ground is ash covered, deep in the lower Midwest, is Not Good.
if this is a super volcano, the entire world will be affected. you probably have no future. the darkness might last for months and years. temps in the 30s and 40s, all "summer" long and no crops and little light, for years.

you would have to look for tiny clues, in your dream memory. how old is everyone? is a kid a bit taller now, in the dream? are there leaves on the trees?

do a google image search for "volcanic ash". see how the images compare.

the fact that your dad is a military survival man and He Is Scared, is NOT a good sign!
little things. dream interpretations rest upon the tiny details.

I, myself, do not have a good feeling about 2015/16. I think indeed there was a ww III probability but now it is geological, like volcanoes or asteroid. the Time of collective departure of humanity from the earthsphere might be immanently upon us all!! *a* way is devised to harvest us all.

suggestion: in your future, starting *now*, try to eliminate all negativities from your attitudes and your heart. get "closer" to God and Spirit, in what ever way feels right for you.

"survival" here, will not be a physical issue! survival, really will mean what kind of afterlife you will have by how you are living today and if one changes for the better, the earthlife, the afterlife will be better for it.
forgive your disliked people, learn truth and goodness. grow your souls now so that you can hit the afterlife, running!!

and I consider this one thread one of the most "ultimate" "doom porn" threads, here, on ATS!

see, your dream, if True and real and plays out as seen, this will invalidate 99% of all of the conspiracy postings here on ATS! what does it matter about politics and Big Boys and cabals, if everything is to come apart in a global volcanic winter?! for it will be global, as the winds carry this ash cloud all around the world. lets not ask just how many MORE volcanoes will erupt also!

I heard about that quake in Virginia. Out here we chuckled at you guys.

That wasn't a quake, that was a "trembler".

hi again, quickly

a friend of mine read the same thread. she came to the conclusion that as you from *from* japan, she thinks that you see this happening in japan, soon! not here.
but the photographic imagery is too too detailed for this, in my opinion. however, I am always surprised at dreams. you could even be dreaming about that currant erupting volcano there!! 30 hikers killed.

LOL yeah I know. I had someone else from Los angeles tell me they used a ,5 . 0 to stir their coffee. It was just odd no shaking where I was in a building on a concrete slab. I was the only one standing and felt a hum. Real deep and low pitched and the floor contracted. No one else felt it because they were in chairs and I guess I don't know.... ???' I thought at first it had just been a big heavy truck going by. We were on a main road with truck and car traffic. Big trucks. Not until we got a call asking if we'd felt the earth quake did I know what I had felt. So yeah I have to agree. But it was a new one in my book of experiences.

Thanks for your reply, freestone! star star star!

Well, in the dream, everyone looks the same age as they are now.

And yes, I thought about a "what if" this is in relation to the Japan volcanic eruption since I have family there... but I just fount it odd that my dream was in the US where I am now (in TN).

Definitely agree about eliminating negativity from your life.

Seriously? This is kind of rude. It's because your dreams have their own post in ANOTHER thread. This thread is about the dream I had, not about something you predicted. There's really no need to ask people to go look at your dream/prediction on a thread about a dream I had, which apparently isn't even related to your dream/prediction. Please make a separate thread. ---I'm sorry the fact that people are responding to my thread upsets you. This isn't a contest.

PS: I welcome hearing about relevant/similar dreams other users have had recently. If you have a thread, please post it! But don't do this^^
