I'm actually not a big-government proponent.....at least not in the current system in place. Also, I'm not a big fan of Obama or the ACA. I truly believe it was a fascist giveaway to the corporate insurance companies, not an attempt to better the healthcare system.

I am trying to fight against the lies and propaganda that is spread. Too many people think that the post office is broke or this board is a "death panel" because they listen to too much Fox News and Right wing talk radio.

The same talking points and ignorant buzzwords we hear from the talking heads are repeated here daily, and there are those of us that work beyond politics to expose the dangers in that indoctrination. It's bad for ATS and it's bad for this country. We need more people to be honest and willing to do the leg-work required to become informed.....not just repeat what they heard on the MSM.

This is why Obama said openly that the elderly would not receive life saving health care under the then proposed Obamacare years ago. You may disagree that he said this, but he did when telling a woman under his proposed health care plan her elderly mother would not be eligible for lifesaving care.

Part of Obamacare was to ensure the earlier death of "non productive" citizens. (the elderly)

People scoffed that this was true, but it has turned out to be quite true.

Socialists/progressives/liberals see the elderly as a drain on society, too bad they won't see themselves that way when they are elderly.
Of course the socialists who pass these policies will get all the life saving healthcare they want until they are quite quite old. It is just the average american who will be denied anything but pain meds in old age.

When I lived in Europe (6 years total) the socialists were firmly in control.
At that time, smoking was not discouraged at all
(at the same time America had already gone smoke free in public buildings).

Heavy drinking was the norm and expected.

Healthy eating was not discussed or encouraged at all, while America had healthy eating and lifestyle campaigns going.. (It may have changed in recent years, I admit to not knowing)

I pondered why this was so in socialist Europe and came to a realization, these things led to early death. In a heavily socialized country the retired were a huge economic burden.

Yes end of life care is expensive, but it is just as expensive at 70 as it is at 90 and in those intervening 20 years the state is paying huge sums in retirement benefits.

So it is much cheaper to allow and not discourage unhealthy lifestyles for a socialist state, and to disallow lifesaving treatment for those who are retired.

Yet strangely enough, despite all your politically ignorant blather, those "socialist" European countries have a higher life expectancy and better health than Americans. Your "points" at the very least, are laughable.

I lived in "socialist Europe" for 6 years too. They do not have the same aggressive health campaigns as the U.S. You know why? THEY DO NOT NEED THEM. Europeans are not a bunch of mindlessly eating idiots. They do not need to be told how to eat healthy because they already do. They do not have the obesity problem we do. They do not need expensive government add campaigns on the dangers of smoking because they already know its bad.

Yet strangely enough, they still manage to outlive us, and experience much better health. The quality of their food is also better. And their doctors are not as pill-pushing crazy as Americans ones. Another reason they live longer.

There were many things that sucked in Europe, I will admit. However, their health and well being was not one of them.

The way these elites think is very troubling and it seems to be getting worse. These are lunatics. I'm sure of it.

This doesn't apply to elites. However, we should remind them of this to them on their 75th birthday ---that they should go on and die!!! My grand parents, on both sides, lived into their 90's. They still cut their own grass(and lots of other work) and all that up until their deaths.
