Does the US role out the red carpet for illegal immigrants? This is a mantra often seen on this board, but is it true?
This is a myth created by Foxnews and a host of other right wing leaning media infotainment organization, but is there a speck of truth to there assertions?

Does the Federal or state governments run TV commercials in countries south of our border inviting them to the US?
Are there radio messages broadcast on radio stations south of the boarder inviting them here?
Are we dropping leaflets from airplanes inviting people here?

Or is this just spin, created to cause Americans to think we are under attack from people south of the border?
Can you prove the Federal government is inviting people to immigrate here? Legally or illegally??

Under Reagan in the 80's there were twice as many entering the US, and he gave amnesty to many. Why do you think the situation is worst today than decades ago?

Interesting thread and question but I expected you to answer some of the questions.

We just begin a thread and expect members do the research? Is that how it is done around here?

Seems lazy.

Ah... everytime I read this stuff on ATS, I really have to facepalm.
The people that claim that the illegal immigrants getting in way to easy, have never seen the immigration laws here in Germany.
We basically let everybody in and even give them money.

Yes and no. Most of it is created by the right wing media, but there are also granules of truth that have been blown far out of proportion. Sometimes it is also the side effect of applying the laws. Prisons in border states are often overcrowded to the point that the police can't arrest anymore when they find them. Or they do and shortly release them. As far as illegals hopping the border and getting a free ride for the rest of their and their families' lives, that is all bull crap.

Who have they punished for trying to enforce the laws?

Oh and you can bring up the past when people make claims like "this is the worst the border has ever been"
If there is facts from the past that disprove that, why can they not be brought up?

Thank you for the post, conversations about this should happen we should all attempt at least to Deny Ignorance. Too bad we on ATS are not capable of having these conversations with out labeling, or deflecting, or attacking the messenger.

Hmm no one has proven that Obama or the Federal government are inviting immigrants here. Is it safe to add this urban myth to the pants on fire category?

I wouldn't say it's safe to do anything. I didn't present any evidence in defense of my case, I just know how to detect sensationalism. Though I'm sure a quick check online would substantiate my claims (heck maybe even snopes or politifact have already covered it).

ETA: Here's one:
Transportation Insecurity Administration

Claim: The TSA permits "illegal aliens" aboard standard commercial flights without proper identification and no additional verification if they produce a "notice to appear."

Not surprising, It's false.

And here is one that shows it is a mix of the two:
DREAM Act

Claim: Implementation of Dream Act guidelines will grant amnesty to illegal aliens residing in the United States if they agree to enlist in the U.S. military or enter college.

No, our economy roles out the red carpet, an economy that is now being torn apart by Big Business, and Big interests. If America did not have the economy and relaxed living Most Illegals would not come here, but because its a start to a better life, Why would they Not come. Thats the question you should be asking.

It also helps that they can walk down most streets in any city in this country and not worry about getting kidnapped, murdered, or both.

Please research the legal actions taken by the DOJ against Arizona and Texas.

Greetings and Salutations: Just for info there is a similar thread going on.. I don't know how to do a link but it is under "new"..

If I were You, I'd be more concerned about the 37th parallel and those "visitors"...

And "Yes" that is the job of the media, to keep You 'distracted'. A continual game of 3-Card Monte..

And like the other ATS™ thread You too are concentrating on the U.S./Mexican border. The 'new Mericans' that the worry should be directed to are the Ones that fly into airports and get the red carpet. They are usually a business connection, scientist, professor (Are You aware of how many Nazis were ushered into the US after WWII? like Warner VonBraun, et al...) As You 'may' also be aware that the US is lacking as far as education is involved? Well these folks bring their kids who are 3x-5x better educated than the US kids so who do You think will be running these companies the next generation?

Remember not too long ago the problem at the border was "the cartels moving their product"? Then We threw 55,000 weapons at the problem. Maybe if the US didn't have such a big drug problem the traffic would lighten up? Maybe if the US gov't. wouldn't just give $$ to US Citizens that find sitting around idle is better than working, there wouldn't be any jobs for these Mexicans to steal....

You mean the ones deemed unconstitutional?
Like the ID laws?
And you are the that made the claim, back it up with some sources, I know you know how it works.

Good hell. Not very difficult.

The AZ enforcement of the Border has drawn legal actions from the DOJ.

Please, in the same nature as this thread, go do your own research.

The majority of the threads I post here are based in the form of a question, sorry you don't approve, well not really sorry.

Most will not research anything they hear, they just take it as truth and spread it far and wide, however if there challenged to prove a known fallacy there act of research might open there eyes. Its amazing how many profess to be a Christian yet have no idea what is written in the book, this explains why so many so called Christian groups act un Christian like. Knowledge is power, blindly following what ideological infotainment tells you is weak.

The anti immigrant is so third Reich, this explains my discord.

I have worked with many people from south of the border, some legal some illegal I guess. Not many wished to stay here, there is too much racism here, there opinions. They wished to work for upto 5 years then return home with the money they earned to provide a better life for themselves and there families, yes terrible people I know.

But I have seen no evidence that the US rolls out a red carpet for illegals, I just see that as a talking point from the right.

Racial profiling is illegal in the US, this is the reason for actions from the DOJ.

If it was so easy you think you would have just done it by now.
As far as I know all action that has been taken against the states is cause the laws they were passing were unconstitutional if you would like to source something that is different that would be great, other wise I guess we are done

I would love to see any proof of this. You know......"anti-immigrant" and not "anti-illegal immigrant".

You really should get your terms corrected.
