E i used to have aol broadband and i like it too. Just dont try to network it wirelessly it teh biggest pain ever. I mean the interface was all fine and all and ull love it if u have had dial up for a long time but the constant signing in and crap is bothersome to. And on top of everthing the AOL broadband is more expensive then like Road Runner and if u wanted to network it would be like 10 buck more than ur already payin for regular service. I canceled my aol account and got ROad Runner and got he cheapest aol plan and signed on to aol through my road runner at like 10 bucks a month so u still make out cheaeper

I know what you mean William. I have a WiFi 80211.b network setup in my house and I love it. I use a Linksys Wireless Router set up with my cable modem. Nothing better than watching tv in the living room with my hp laptop browsing the web with no cables.

Its heaven.

once the wireless speeds can even come close to wired speeds (and it's coming fast what with 802.11g being up to 54MBps and all + backwards compatability) I'll think about purchasing a laptop, but until then. I'm fine with my 'so-called' broadband (512/128) and wired setup throughout my house. Just curious what kind of speeds you guys are able to get where you live. I hang out at www.dslreports.com it has an awesome forum for anything computer related at all. Post some of your speeds here, I'd be interested.

And the question is :

Why did you chose AOL and not another one ?

Where I live My cable modem connection is rated at 512/128 but I normally get 650+/130+ from my connection. Sometimes late at night I get even higher speeds normaly in the 2mbit+ range.

I picked aol due to feature's. I don't know anyother ISP that has what aol does all packed together and easy to get too. I was using prodigy when I had 56k modem, but there was nothing to it beside's connecting and surfing and doing a few download's.

With AOL Broadand, I haven't had one problem. Speed's great! I like going to the chatroom's. The music feature's, like first listen and aol radio are awsome. I dunno ... I just know I've enjoyed it so far and have had ZERO problem's with the service. Very enjoyable experiance.
