In the past month, as Im trying to sleep normally, I have these instances.....where when I'm trying to sleep and NOT dreaming and I suddenly see a bright light while my eyes are closed. It's as if someone is shoving a flashlight right into my eye but my eye is closed and it happens in a millisecond. It's SO weird. No weird alien dreams at all whatsoever, [drug use snipped]

Sorry, what are Syrian Rue and Mimosa Hostilis? I really haven't heard of them before. I guess I could have Googled it, but thought this was easier at the time. And maybe you'd give me a more concise, layman's explanation.

It's a sign of exploding head syndrome. Sometimes when I'm trying to fall asleep, I will hear a burst of extremely loud music or talking, and sometimes I see a flash of light. Always jerks me awake. It isn't fun, but I guess I'm used to it.

Many do it's the normal way your retina fires off when tugged on by the vitreous (jelly) of the eye, or you are seeing little blood cells circulate.

If you want a logical explanation, it could be the retina detaching from the eyeball.

If you want a paranormal explanation, it could be the aliens zapping your DNA to raise your consciousness. (No kidding!)

I have been seeing flashes of light before, and after, 12-21-12, and wondered what the heck was happening. Then I read about how the ETs were helping to change our DNA by zapping light at us. This has been happening to me ever since it first started before 12-21-12.

I finally had time (and money) to go to my optometrist in May of this year. He's the one who told me it usually was a sign that the retina was pulling loose from the eyeball. That sort of had me worried!!

But, after looking at the pictures of my eyes, he said I didn't show any signs of anything that could cause the flashes of light.

So... I guess that means the aliens are giving me quadruple zaps from their laser beam gun!

Because you used the Syrian Rue and Mimosa Hostilis, this could be what is happening to you too.

If all you want is to remember your dreams more vividly, I suggest you incorporate resistant starch into your diet. I have had to change my diet in the last year and even more so in the last 3-4 mos. because I'm gluten intolerant. Which for me meant eating more breads made with rice and potato starch. Check the subject out online to find out what foods are high in resistant starch.

A thread recently was started here at ATS that was very interesting and lead me to discover why after all my life of barely remembering a handful dreams I was now dreaming and remembering every part of the dreams most vividly.

Here is the link to the thread www.abovetopsecret.com...

Ok, I see I can't say what is blanked out, sorry mods. OP if you don't realize what those herbs can do to you look Ayahuasca

Exactly what I was going to say. The first time I had EHS, it started with what I thought were headlights coming through the window. I kept sitting up and looking out there but there was nothing. It kept happening. Closed my eyes, bright lights, open eyes, nothing. Over and over until I just gave up. I was really giggly, too.

Then, as I was about to pass out, BAM! Loudest noise I've ever heard, right inside my head like my brain itself fired a shotgun.

ps edit - They still haven't fixed the glitch where we can't type "window" with a period right after? window. window. window.

It could also be something called phosphenes.
When you close your eyes tight...you see lights, they are called phosphenes.
