Why agree to the cease fire if you have no intentions of following thru on it?

Because that lopsided of a ceae fire "agreement" is stacked all against the "rebels". Nice choice of words. The coup in Kiev wash't an election either. A lull in the reprisals against eatern Ukraine does not a peace accord make.

Now that the Ukrainian government has been overthrown waaay back in February… suddenly, according to you they are legitimate and anyone who disagrees with Kiev are the new rebels.

Got it.

Are you under the impression that the war between Britain and Argentina over the rights to drill for gas off the Falkland Islands was an attempt to quell a bid for independece? Seriously?

You called it a war just then, too.

Like the war on terror. Yes, Argentina wanted to free the Falkland Islands from the Queen. Call that whatever you will, it remains a vital strategic choke point, just Like the Rock of Gibraltar. And under UK dominance.

ROFL!

Russia recognized not only the last election cycle in Ukraine, which resulted in Yanukovych being impeached, but the latest Ukraine elections for the President.

So I am not sure why you guys keep ignoring the fact the Ukraine government, in both areas, was and is valid and lawful. Even Russia has stated this by recognizing the results.

Then, again, why did the rebels sign it if they had no intention of following it?

Maybe to buy time to resupply and rearm?

Or maybe the rebels had the "Kievian" army cutoff and surrounded in East Ukraine. A cease fire kept them from being exterminated.

"Kievian" army operations in the East had failed. Good time to call a cease fire.

Theres no point in telling the pro russians anything. they do nto believe the history books unless they are russian.Tha falklands held a vote to become independent one time and the majority of th e islanders decided to stay under the crown. BEcause the other people would had imposed much higher taxes and restricted their freedom more than britain.

Point is it was not argentinas island under international law anyway.
