Disclaimer: This Post is not aimed at one particular party or ideology, but at the glorious diversity of stupidity of all the people currently "in-charge" of our beloved United States.

I found this list of the "The 11 Ways You Know You Live in a Country Run by Idiots" and just had to share it with my ATS brothers and sisters. I started laughing starting with number one all the way through number eleven. Enjoy.

The Blaze

1. If you can get arrested for hunting or fishing without a license, but not for being in the country illegally, you live in a country run by idiots.

2. If you have to get your parents’ permission to go on a field trip or take an aspirin in school, but not to get an abortion, you live in a country run by idiots.

3. If you have to show identification to board an airplane, cash a check, buy liquor or check out a library book, but not to vote on who runs the government, you live in a country run by idiots.

4. If the government wants to ban stable, law-abiding citizens from owning gun magazines with more than ten rounds, but gives 20 F-16 fighter jets to the crazy leaders in Egypt, you live in a country run by idiots.

5. If, in the largest city, you can buy two 16-ounce sodas, but not a 24-ounce soda because 24-ounces of a sugary drink might make you fat, you live in a country run by idiots.

6. If an 80-year-old woman can be stripped searched by the TSA but a woman in a hijab is only subject to having her neck and head searched, you live in a country run by idiots.

7. If your government believes that the best way to eradicate trillions of dollars of debt is to spend trillions more, you live in a country run by idiots.

8. If a seven year old boy can be thrown out of grade school for saying his teacher’s “cute,” but hosting a sexual exploration or diversity class in grade school is perfectly acceptable, you live in a country run by idiots.

9. If hard work and success are met with higher taxes and more government intrusion, while not working is rewarded with EBT cards, WIC checks, Medicaid, subsidized housing and free cell phones, you live in a country run by idiots.

10. If the government’s plan for getting people back to work is to incentivize NOT working, with 99 weeks of unemployment checks and no requirement to prove they applied but can’t find work, you live in a country run by idiots.

11. If being stripped of the ability to defend yourself makes you more “safe” according to the government, you live in a country run by idiots.

Hanging behind every word is the implication of right wing politics and the reason our nation seems to have schizophrenia is that every few years it changes hands from one apparent extreme to the other so you end up with these discordant contradictions enshrined in the law.

What we need is a populist movement in this country that governs in the best interest of the people, but that will never happen so long as the public engages in spectator's politics.

I know you may be pointing this at a particular party or ideology, the same can not be same about the blaze.
They are hardly down the middle on anything.

7. If your government believes that the best way to eradicate trillions of dollars of debt is to spend trillions more, you live in a country run by idiots.

This is the only one I 100% agree with that isn't comparing apples to oranges or exaggerating grossly

ETA: I also agree that this country is ran by idiots, but not cause of what is laid out above.

Excellent point. For years I fished and crabbed the inlet and tidal creeks around a certain East Coast resort city--for free. All of that has changed now with relatively recent requirements for licenses. I and many others I know supplement their diets with venison, pheasant, rabbit and wild turkey. If not for the sharply demarcated hunting seasons, we'd hunt and consume wild game year round while keeping our harvests well within state conservation goals. I would also hunt on family property just across the state line if not for the ridiculous costs associated with licensing to do so legally.

3. If you have to show identification to board an airplane, cash a check, buy liquor or check out a library book, but not to vote on who runs the government, you live in a country run by idiots.

The first three phrases suit "their" master plan. Constraining the fourth--the right to vote--does not, unless they're limiting the rights of citizens.

6. If an 80-year-old woman can be stripped searched by the TSA but a woman in a hijab is only subject to having her neck and head searched, you live in a country run by idiots.

A nod to the disparity of respect for citizens' privacy, and an even bigger nod to political correctness. Respect the rights and customs of foreigners, while stripping the same from citizens. Expect us to surrender personal dignity and privacy for the cause, but by all means never deign to disrespecting certain minority segments or the persons of possible foreign dignitaries.

11. If being stripped of the ability to defend yourself makes you more “safe” according to the government, you live in a country run by idiots.

Unarmed does indeed make us more safe. Safer from our government. Never mind, that makes no sense to me either.

Some of the assertions in that are wrong. Most times you do not need ID to use a credit card while you do need an ID to vote.

When you collect unemployment you are required to look for work here, even if you are temporarily layed off. I can't see that as an employer who always laid off his workers for two to three months a year during winter. I paid unemplyment insurance for my employees. Usually between eight and twelve percent of their wage after an initial reduced five year break when I started my business.

The people who wrote that article do not know how things work

Amen, brother.

Now let's see someone justify any one of these behaviors, all of which have happened in real life, of course.

I wouldn't say everything posted in this list is fact, sources would be great if they want to say it is, shoot even the very first one is wrong.
Thought the issue was that they don't show up for the court date, how do you get a court date if you don't get arrested?

It's a gross simplification of the immigration issue.
