OK, so which one? I'm having a bit of a barny with my mate, he's a lover of toblerone, and being lead singer of the jaffa cake cult, well it's obvious as to my choice...Come on ATSer's let your love be known, jaffacakes or toblerone?

WOW LadyCool21, way to get the household feuding!

My partner of 15 years goes for Toblerone

I fall definitely on the side of the Jaffa Cakes.

Incidentally, did you know that there was a court case over whether Jaffa Cakes were cakes or biscuits?

Original Article HERE

Basic foodstuffs are exempt in Britain. But the definition of basic foodstuff led to a mammoth court case between the Government and McVities, the maker of Jaffa Cakes, a popular chocolate-covered sponge biscuit.

Chocolate biscuits are defined as luxury items, so liable to the tax, while cakes are basic foodstuffs and zero-rated. McVities argued that a Jaffa Cake is just that.

The famous case ended up centring on how Jaffa Cakes aged. The firm argued that a biscuit was hard when fresh and soft when stale. Jaffa Cakes, in contrast, went from soft to hard. The company won.

And from HERE

McVities baked a huge 12" jaffa cake to prove it was a cake, and showed it went stale like a cake not a biscuit.

Well done LadyCool21, this is what BTS is meant for.

Jaffacakes are a British institution, they have cults, bands, mass pixy followings...AND are great dipped in tea, what more could you ask for?

Heck they even have major court cases, oh and lets not forget the smashing orangey bit...

so far...Toberlone - 73

Jaffa cakes - 85
