A month after Jacques Chirac's sobering analysis of the 'War on Terror', Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf, a staunch Bush ally, acknowledges what anti-war critics claimed since George W. Bush planned his attack on Iraq : the 'War on Terror' has destabilized international security. In his own words : 'With hindsight, yes. We have landed ourselves in more trouble, yes.'

LONDON, England (CNN) -- The U.S.-led invasion of Iraq was a mistake that has made the world a more dangerous place, but a swift withdrawal would make matters worse, Pakistan's president says.

"I think it's less safe," Gen. Pervez Musharraf said on CNN's "Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer."

Asked whether he considered the invasion a mistake, the Pakistani leader said: "With hindsight, yes. We have landed ourselves in more trouble, yes."

Musharraf was in Washington on Saturday for a brief meeting with U.S. President George W. Bush before flying to London for talks Monday with British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Now that anti- and pro-war leaders are unanimously voicing their analysis of the mistaken US policy of invading Iraq, will the US administration finally recognize it's errors in ignoring international laws and scientific analysis of the middle eastern problem ? Or will they step up the propaganda and rhetoric to keep the american people by the flag in hoping that more lies and more injustice can improve the situation ? What is Bush's exit strategy to the tragedy of mass murdering iraqi civilians and insurgents in a desperate attempt to crush anti-US feelings in Iraq ? People peacefully voicing their opinion against the occupation of Iraq are beginning to get liquidated by shadowy death squads, like two Mosul clerics and a Baghdadi student leader, and opponents of US occupation are being menaced of suffering death penalty by the CIA operative Allawi. Is Bush copying Kissinger's strategy in South America, the liquidation of political opponents ?

The balancing act of "businessman" Musharraf never fails to impress me,

in the same paragraph he delivers a healthy dose of criticism towards the policies of the usa government while at the same time declaring not to abandon the alliance, this way he keeps all horses in the race.

Musharraf may not be the ideal democratic leader, but considering the turbulent situation in Pakistan I wouldn't know a better person to prevent things getting out of hand, something that must be even reckcognized in India.

a true chessmaster.

Musharraf must balance his military dictatorship with the strong anti-US feelings of his population....
