Ok, today I had nothing special to do, so I was watching some TV and there was also some magazines on the table about "famous" people. It`s a long time since I had the time to properly sit down in front of a TV set so I had no idea of how futile some TV channels and programs are these days
!!!

Big problem is most people today just want to live the moment the best they can without thinking about the future. They just want to live the same lifestyle most celebrities live (or pretend to live), so I see a future generation of old people without money nor help from the state institutions as most countries are full of debt. A future generation of thousands or millions of OLD and sick homeless people dying in the streets. A future generation of "half dead people"

Well, I hope I`m wrong but population in developed countries is getting older and older and while old people now still have some money as in the past there was a sense of saving for the future I don`t think it will be the same in about 20-30 years from now.

Zombie Apocalypse is not in the Bible. Just in Hollywood films, which are written because people want to watch films about Zombies. No prophecy involved.
P.S. This post was written because "in the Bible" was part of the original title of the thread. I don't want anyone to think I was dragging the Bible in gratuitously.

The thread is still in religion/faith/theology forum.... A mod might want to move it, as the connection has been edited out.

Revelation 9

The fifth angel sounded his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth. The star was given the key to the shaft of the Abyss. 2 When he opened the Abyss, smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace. The sun and sky were darkened by the smoke from the Abyss. 3 And out of the smoke locusts came down on the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth. 4 They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads. 5 They were not allowed to kill them but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes. 6 During those days people will seek death but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.

---A zombie is dead, yet still animated. These people will try to die but won't be able to. They will be in agony. I have always wondered if this is some type of immortality drug or gene therapy gone wrong.

Maybe people don't want to live that long , ever thought about that ?

Maybe the thought of living up to 60 y.o ill, no more sexual intercourse, grey hairs is a concept of the 20th century. Maybe the clever people live the moment and when they estimate their time has come...good bye. Maybe "dumb" people aren't that dumb, assuming they stick to the initial plan.

Exactly.

Is this still a pop culture trend?

A future generation? I see it now. You don't have to be old to be half-dead. Living day to day, week to week with no vision of the future and no concept that the past means anything while not seeing the relevance of anything that happens more than 200 miles from your front door..............You can't get more brain dead than that. People argue against that theory though because they believe that our technological advancements equate to advancements of our species. it doesn't of course because in every part of the globe that has populations whose governments want change, we have conflicts. From Russia to the Middle East to the Southern border of the U.S., people are f***ing each up left and right.

People living day to day........people killing each other for no good reason.......people looking for some sort of guidance so they don't have to do either of those.......the "zombie apocalypse" has been going on for a very long time now.

But you can't really expect the zombies to see that for themselves now can you?

The original Night of the Living Dead is the basis for the pop culture trend, but the ideas of zombies are much older.

White Zombie in 1932 was the first zombie movie. Since then, it has exploded into this pop culture trend. Those are just movies, written by some guy sitting at a typewriter or keyboard. The reason there are so many is because movie-goers love blood, gore and violence.

All of the facets of this trend stem directly from George Romero. You have to shoot them in the head to kill them. That's from him and not before him. It is amazing that people can't separate reality from fantasy. Movies are fantasy, not reality.

it's also amazing that people can't see an analogy for what it is. See my post above yours. Real 'zombies" don't exist, I think we all know that. What you see in the movies is an exaggerated version of a lot of people these days.

Cosmic Dude we are engaged in an orchestration of parasitism on a scale yet unimagined, it seems on every level of this game we are all playing, there are parasites in dark corners stealing our energy.

Not to mention well lit corners.
Walk into a fast food outlet. Any fast food outlet. We are greeted by a pretty smiley faced girl who beams up at us and joyfully asks us what she can get us. We fall into the caricature of friendliness and order as they suggest, unconsciously adding on portions we had not originally intended.

To the right and to the left of us people are being trained to act friendly so as to get something from us. Friendship is rapidly becoming only if you can do something for me friendship. And that ain't friendship.

You have laid out a thoughtful speculation here Dude. You had me right along with the picture you described. Is a sad situation we are facing. I like Taupin Desciple's addition above also. In light of the perspective you have fashioned in your OP, I think that TD's point is likewise a valid observation. It's here now Dude.

' Real ' zombies ' can exist - almost just like the movies ... somewhere there is aerosolized / weaponized hydrophobia ( rabies )that will be when deployed , just like what we think of as zombies . Biting , drooling , hard to kill ...
The target populace will be in turmoil . Your tax dollars at work ...

What you see in the movies is a screenwriter's idea and worldview. He's writing to make money and off the popular current trends, that's all.

How do you kill zombies? Aren't you supposed to shoot them in the head? Isn't that what the proponents of Zombie Apocalypse say? That is from George Romero's movie, not before.

Zombies come from their graves. Zombies brains were slightly animated to make them walk, attack and eat, but only after a nuclear incident.

That's all from the movie.

Real zombies of Voodoo are poisoned, they didn't really die first. Make the analogies all you want, but don't take it from some guy sitting at a typewriter or keyboard.

How do I know that people can't tell fantasy from reality? I am a screenwriter, I have made movies, I have worked in theater and have cast actors for different roles. When I hear people saying things like this, it makes me laugh because people believe the fantasy. I remember on a particular thread three years ago, someone actually said the government was lying to us about stargates, because the movie told them that.

A movie is the brain child of a screenwriter, nothing more.

Well, when you have mindless, slavish humanoids who are resurrected from the dead, what exactly do you expect them to be like? When you compare these drones to what a creative, talented, independent, proactive, free willed being might look like, the zombie apocalypse is already upon us. The dead can be resurrected in this lifetime so that new life is breathed into them, but only if they operate their whole being in a new transcendent vitality.

Just think of the average "saved" evangelist. They already lost their brain and had their individual authority usurped by an outside force and now they are coming for you, trying to get at your brains and individual will as well. Slow and steady, they think they will win their race, by any means necessary, preying on you when you stumble and fall, in your moment of greatest weakness.

The zombie apocalypse is a perfect allegory for self-sacrificing religions, and as the virus spreads on this planet, it is leading to the collapse of all human life as we know it.
