A "friend" in this aphorism is ONLY a metaphor for having a temporary alliance against a greater enemy such as in WWII when the US allied with Stalin to beat Hitler.

You violate the hell out of it. You just do not tell anyone about it,and deny everything when asked!

Pretty simple if you ask me.

Never mind all the other static injected into this whole damned mess, the contrived emergencies and dangers levied against all of those not so helpless civilians and babies and such....

Who owns the dam that holds back the water to sell to all of those people in danger if it is supposedly blown up?, those who are washed away and removed from what amounts to only a temporary, fleeting existence anyway?, no, or those who lose the dam, the money invested to build it and the water they want to sell to all of those helpless morons who are forced to pay for something that should be a basic human right anyway.

How did the world get so messed up?, maybe because people have had the ability to discern between bull# and real live actual reality conditioned out of them.

Corporations, fictitious persons, legal fictions own everything that real people need to survive and control it in order to make a profit selling it to all of us.

I give up on the whole mess and just don't care anymore because so few see the whole drama for what it actually is.

If one kills something that will die someday regardless of the method, has one really done anything at all to that thing?, really?.

No, it means nothing, go grow a garden and collect rainwater and realize what a bunch of dependent domestic beasts of burden you actually were before you removed yourselves from this great big contrived lie.

We are all figments of our collective imagination, as are all things.

"Yet"

Joint Chiefs chairman says ISIS not a direct threat to US, won't recommend Syria strikes yet

The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff has said that he would not recommend U.S. military airstrikes against Islamic State militants in Syria until he determines that they have become a direct threat to the U.S.

Gen. Martin Dempsey, speaking to reporters on board a military plane traveling to Afghanistan, said Sunday that he believes the Sunni insurgent group formerly known as ISIS is more of a regional threat and is not currently plotting or planning attacks against the U.S. or Europe.

ISIS has repeatedly made threats to attack the U.S. through social and conventional media. Earlier this month, in a Vice News documentary, a spokesman for the group vowed to "raise the flag of Allah in the White House." The group took over Iraq's second largest city, Mosul, in June, and has since declared an Islamic state, or caliphate, in a swath of territory covering northeastern Syria and northern and western Iraq. U.S. airstrikes and a new policy of direct military aid to Kurdish Peshmerga fighters have served as a check on a threatened ISIS advance toward Kurdish territory in northern Iraq.

On Sunday, Dempsey contrasted ISIS to the Yemen-based Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, which has plotted and attempted attacks against the U.S. and Europe. As a result, the U.S. has conducted counterterrorism strikes against the group within Yemen.

I really don't know much about Assad. I have never thought he was as bad as the world would have us believe. I have always leaned towards the Western Nations perpetrating the typical regime change by instigation etc more than anything he did. He did some bad stuff in response to some things no doubt. I just know that Syria has been one of the US foreign policy to dos for years now according to Wesley Clark. It's relationship with Iran and Russia makes it important to upset the balance there. There is no doubt that Assad and his ilk have been fighting terrorists and foreigners from the start though.

So of course the US will never align with Assad for the simple fact that it is against the US/Western interests and intentions in that region and it would be deemed unpopular as well. Just my 2 cents and purely my opinion.
