For the last three races i have Hamilton in my manager, but the bad luck he had during the last races and what Rosberg did yesterday, have affected any chance of a good result this year. Well there is always next time

Anyway, it seems Rosberg wanted to make a point, let's look at the moment of contact.

If he had waited for another lap, he would have had the advantage of using his DRS and would easily have passed Hamilton, and be entitled to have the racing line.
This was simply avoidable and a stupid thing to do, i am sure we will hear more about this.

Rosberg has admitted in a debrief with Wolf and Hamilton that he deliberately " did not try to avoid hitting" Lewis.

He should be penalized by the FIA for his actions. If he had made that comment earlier his 2nd place would have been thrown out.

We wondered why the Stewards did nothing on the day and now their negligence is confirmed.

There is still a distinct possibility he will disqualified by Todt, Max Mosley's replacement.

That would give Raikkonen third place and one last trophy.

FIA has said they won't investigate, so let's wait and see what Merc will do, Wolf was quite upset because of this contact and rightly so.

I think we will see more of Raikonen in the coming races, the chances of Alonso or ferrari winning the drivers or constructors championship is very slim, so we will see the same as last year i think.
I mean, in the remaining races Massa did very well compared with the first half of the season.

It was incredible stupid of Rosberg.

We can at least conclude Rosberg isn`t the smartest on the grid. Even a 16 year old F3 driver showed more brains in his last 2 races by keeping his calm.

But what can Mercedes do ?

Wolf just needs to bitch-slap him.

I think that Rosberg and Hamilton racing with each other is out of the question from now on.
That means that whoever is on pole will win the race if there are no mechanical problems during the race.
If this is what Mercedes decides, it is quite understandable but not good for the sport in my opinion.
I don't see any other options than team orders.

I hope not, let them fight it out...

They are dominant enough, even if it goes bad again, one of them still should become Champion... but why not wait until the later stage of the race, it still beats me, now they threw away victory for one of them. I still think Hamilton could have played it smarter too, by giving more room to Rosberg. I know the rules about keeping race line and so (had lots of discussions with a friend about it), but Hamilton also could have used his brain and think he might well go off keeping his race line.

On the part of the circuit where they collided that was not really an option.
Two corners 7 and 8 follow up on each other and it is important to be on the left side as much as possible coming out of Les Combes in order to carry speed into Malmedy and down to Rivage.
That is why it was not an option for Hamilton to wait with taking the next corner in order to leave room for Rosberg.
That part of the circuit allows for overtaking, but one needs to be in the front when going into Les Combes and thus entitled to have the racing line.

On a later point in the race they would have been able to race each other after they had made a gap and thus sure of a win, then it does not matter which driver wins as long as the fight is fair.

I looked at it again, you`re right. Rosberg should have steered next to the track at least. Hamilton could not have gone to the right and avoid it in this case.

Luckily for us, that hasn't been the case. Example, Singapore.

Today's qualifying in Sochi has put Hamilton on pole ahead of Rosberg.

I hope Nico doesn't have another first lap helmet fire and decide to hold his line into the back of Lewis, again.

One would think that an experienced driver would not have first lap helmet fire, but apparently Nico does, he seem to think the race is won in the first corner.
It is quite remarkable how he managed to finished second behind his teammate while driving 52 laps on one set of tires, it could easily have been otherwise if his action had led to damage to both cars.
If i was running a team, he would be scratched of the list of possible drivers, he is not champion material.
Luckily for the team, Hamilton was awake and avoided such an outcome.

Makes me wonder how much credit should go to Hamilton and how much to the car.

Lewis has some serious skill, but Rosberg is right behind him, despite his blunders.

The top 5 were Mercedes power, making Daniel Ricciardos's performance with the Renault power unit so much more impressive. He's totally out-driven his teammate and reigning World Champion, Sebastian Vettel.

Hamilton deserves credit if we look at his performance as a teammate of Alonso, Button and Rosberg, he certainly is one of the best drivers on the grid.
But he also has the best car of the field, this to me is the downside of F1 today and for the past 10/15 years.
First Mclaren had the best car which gave Hakkinen the ability to become world champion two times in a row, then Ferrari had the best car which enabled Michael to win 5 championships in a row, then Ross Brawn grandprix gave Button the best car in 2009, in 2010 it was Red Bull and Vettel won 4 championships in a row, now it is Mercedes and thus either Hamilton or Rosberg will win the championship.

So yes, a lot of credit goes to the car and the team who build and develop the car.

It would be great to see cars that are equal in terms of performance, which means the driver and his skills makes the difference and thus rightfully may call himself a champion.

Edit;
Let's not forget Renault, Alonso won the championship in 2005 and 2006.
