Early today, a 6.2 mag earthquake struck 36 kilometers southeast of Abdanan. So far there are no reports of damage or casualties. The quake was
centered 10km underground. The area is known for oil production and exploration.
A 4.8 and 5.0 had hit yesterday in the same area. The region is reported as being rural and not heavily populated so hopefully there won't be many
casualties/injuries.
