It's a shame that the majority of this country doesn't even know this is happening, let alone know what their effing rights are.

I think that much of the country knows what is happening, I'm sure not as much as folks like us, but they know. I agree with your assessment that we are seeing pseudo martial law.

I think that DHS, the military complex and more than a few politicians would have preferred a much more robust riot and military presence. Ferguson did not give it to them. A large race riot in St. Louis or any other large city would be a wet dream for those that are hell bent on subduing us all.

My hopes are that Ferguson remains cool headed but determined.

The undercovers had the weapons.

This was a rediculous show of might to put us in our place. Idk if it worked. I do know the environmentalists don't just go home. Someone needs to call in the peaceful big dogs.

That is the canister from the Vice footage from what I can tell. Here's another one of the same canister on the ground in the same position as what was seen in the Vice footage, iirc. The larger image was tweeted by Skip LaCombe who is down in Ferguson for The Blaze.

This one is from Alice Speri from Vice. It's the same canister as in the footage. I seem to recall her taking a picture of it on the stream.

Personally, I think what needs to happen is the Mo militia needs to show up and make a public announcement. Looter/rioters will be dealt with by the police. Peaceful protesters will be protected by the militia.

Fox news just reported that 'protesters' were seen with guns before the gunshots, that the 'protesters' were told by someone that they could come back tomorrow and protest. The 'protesters' responded, "There is no tomorrow." Soon after those 'protesters' began shooting at police. Police returned fire.

So who wants to bet with reports like this that there are more 'curfews' coming up?

Its the middle of the night no matter what time zone. Most of the world will wake up to this. We were unlucky enough to see it happen.

CNN now correcting the smoke canister issue. Now saying police initially used smoke canisters, but then switched to tear gas.
