This should be mandatory viewing for anyone that thinks illegal immigration is a simple issue. I cried.

These are people. We need to care. I do not see any difference between an illegal and a refugee. Political spin isn't as important as human lives.

The story tells the tale of 2 brothers, there grown men from San Salvador. The local narcos as they call them told there family to pay a protection money that they didn't have. The mother urged them to escape to America.

They paid traffickers to take them to America, were they were abandoned in Texas in a desert. The oldest brother is telling the story, then they play the first 911 call he made. They had no food or water and his brother had been bitten by a unknown snake and they were attempting to surrender to border patrol. They were told help was on the way. But help didn't come so he called 911 back, they assure him that they have triangulated there position and the border patrol was on there way.

They didn't show up after spending the night with 11 calls to 911 the last call he made he told them his brother had died, then later the local cops found them because of the body being reported.

It also shows mass graves being exhumed in a Texas Cemetery of countless unidentified body's from decades of burials.

I watched it all. There are good people trying to cross the border. But... Having served in the military during war, I understood the reason why many women wanted to marry GI's. This video explains it more clearly. It's all about escape for many people, not all, please understand that; I too married a non citizen of my country. This video shows the need for people to have sympathy for those good people coming into the States illegally. In this country where I'm at, there is zero tolerance to this type of entry. They simply send you back, there are rare exceptions, and I do mean "rare".

These gangs/drug cartels are literally running the country. They have be stopped no matter what Country they are in. There is so much damned corruption and they get away with murder.

When you have millions of people leaving a Country, that is a huge problem. What we need are some brave, strong and intelligent people to put the damned gangs in their places once and for all. Save the innocent people for a change. Is money, power and greed ever worth a human life?

Yes, it SHOULD be mandatory viewing. It's been 10 years now since I worked with people who DID make it, and they told harrowing stories about crossing the desert and these ranches. It makes me sick to my stomach that so many are so rabidly hostile toward these people's plight, and what forced them to take the chance they did. One family, who I was close to, asked me if I would escort their little child, whom I'd known since infancy and was very bonded to, to bring the child back from Vera Cruz. This beautiful, delightful kid was an American Citizen, with a valid passport. Here parents were not - they wanted their daughter to meet her grandparents, who'd never seen her. They said they'd have to trouble going BACK there, but coming back HERE was the treacherous part, and they didn't want her to trek through the desert as they planned to do - as they had done on their way here.

These people were working, paying their rent and their taxes, caring for their child conscientiously (having learned about our program for first-time parents, which was free and totally voluntary, from their social contacts) - their homes were spotless, their manners and hospitality beyond most Americans' these days. Courteous, grateful, kind and open.

They were gracious, uncomplaining, frugal, and friendly. I loved them.

My husband talked me out of going to get the child to bring back to the USA - saying I'd never make it through customs with a beautiful "brown preschooler" as a white woman - even if I had legal, formal guardianship and we both had passports and documentation of our relationship. He worked on the border for a couple of years, and knew the inside stories of how BP works.


I was heartbroken when I said goodbye to that family - I miss them still.



When I see that wall of Americans stopping those buses and screaming at the people, it embarrasses me. What a callous bunch of .....

I have close to 30 years experience working with both illegals and legals, and these people are great, not all but the majority are some of the most hard working I have ever worked with. There great Americans.

I'm not surprised this thread hasn't received much attention.

I like to hike and my limit is a four hour sunny hike. Its almost impossible for me to carry the amount of water needed and I park near the trail. Knowing how I had to research dehydration ( drink before and after btw) and, I could do something about it really struck home.

Even the men that emulated the trail were properly prepared physically and equipmentally. For a layman's person its amazing anyone makes it.

If you were curious, I prefer the rain. Why does this not surprise you? I myself was surprised.

Why does what surprise me? Not sure what you mean.

That they are unprepared and dying? Because I've talked to many, many immigrants, and studied it for years....and I know where they're coming from and under what circumstances they arrived. (Usually not told the truth of what their journey entails, combined with poor education.)

Or, surprised that you prefer rain? Not sure what that means.
