Breaking news actor Robin Williams found dead

So very sad. A relative of mine worked with him on Good Morning Vietnam. His impression was that Robin was true professional, wanted to do that part as close to the reality as possible. For that reason, my relative got to spend a lot of time with him because he was one of the DJs for Armed Forces Radio in the early '70s. He said he was just as funny in private as his public persona. They kept in pretty close touch for years, until my relative died a couple of years ago. Robin sent a huge donation to the memorial fund for my relative's child.
RIP and I hope he's found the peace he sought.

I saw him first in Popeye, I believe.
Then loved and played the soundtrack to Good Morning Vietnam incessantly as a kid.
Watched the Mork and Mindy reruns every evening after school.
My favorite film he was in was Awakenings.

I usually dont feel to bad when stars die. But his death and the death of Andy Griffith I felt.. I think because they both had class and seemed like down to earth genuinely good people..

to me its like the night i heard michael jackson was dead,totally struck numb and couldn,t believe it.

in movie world i believe robin williams was like michael jackson,top of his field and gone way too soon.

This is the only man that could make me cry tears of joy and sorrow with his movies. Many nights drooling and spitting food to his comedy will be greatly missed. It's amazing how much support he had from all walks of life.

He was one of the only comedians that has earned my respect. As someone has already stated: "A light has died".

RIP Garp. One of my favorite movies. And Mork and Mindy... One of my first favorite shows. What a shame.

Not sure why people find some of these Hollywood actors who are on Cocaine,Addicted to alcohol,and other prescription medication end up with suicide.Do not understand why people get so shocked.

Came home from work and found out Robin Williams commited suicide and it did not shock me.

Just about every one of his films brought a smile to my face when growing up, and then of course before that there was Mork and Mindy.... 1 hour photo was the first non-comedy I remember seeing him in, and I realised how versatile he was as an actor, not all fun and games.

How many of you have done the classic Robin / Robbie Williams mix up when discussing either of them? always makes me chuckle that one.

RIP Robbie, you always brought a tear to my eye, today you do that again, but not the usual ones of joy and laughter.

Perhaps we are sorrowful as to why they end up on Cocaine, addicted to alcohol, and other prescription medication, and ultimately commit suicide. Perhaps it makes us feel sad. Perhaps we worry about ourselves, our kin,and our communities, as we watch icons of our generation die. We feel sad and we will miss their personas that we feel we can relate to. Simple as that.

I feel robbed in a way, this is most I have felt for a celebrity passing.

I saw this on the news. Just sickening. God only knows what was going on in his mind.
So gifted -- he gave a lot of joy to countless people. May he be in a happier place now.
