Nope, a solar eclipse is impressive. I watched the last one in the UK from my street on our seaside clifftop.
The shadow rushing towards me across the sea was amazing, the sudden summer warmth of sun replaced by instant cool air, the seagulls roosting as soon
as it went dark then going crazy when the sunbeams rushed back over the sea at the end of the shadow, yes, all of that was amazing and I shall never
forget it.
But a full moon that is only 8% larger than the average full Moon, and about 15% larger than the smallest possible “minimoon” at apogee is lame in
comparison. If it makes you wanna cream then I'm pleased for you, but if we shared a total eclipse of the sun together then my reaction of wonder
will be the same.
You're comparing apples and oranges there, it doesn't really work.
