I don't think the war can be won.

The War on Terrorism shall never be won: always there will be terrorist organizations, and unfortunately weapons will become deadlier.

The war on extreme Islam can be won but the world must work together, and even then it will take a long time. Those who think that terrorism can be defeated by the military might alone, should look at Israel which has been plagued by terrorism for decades, or should think of the numerous terrorist organizations which have been attacked for decades but still exist today in South America, Europe and the Middle East.
