copy/paste from someone asking me why
I don't like the green star system. It is childish for one, and for two I believe all posts should be read and considered based on the content and
not the number of green stars. I know how many humans think, and false ways of thinking can be reinforced easily by "peer-group" interaction such as
green stars. It is for this reason I would like to graduate from green stars. I haven't received a green star since preschool.
In fact, many of my least valuable posts get the most green stars - which encourages docile thought. If people see that no one is able to place a
green star above my post - they will be compelled to read the post without the preconceived notion received from the green star count. This would in
turn increase the chances of my more valuable posts being read and considered by people who, believe it or not, probably would not have given it as
much consideration otherwise. Think people are not that easily manipulated and bias is not that easily generated? Think again, because they are and it
is.
eta: just realized I asked you that question in this thread before making one about it. I thought u went through my recent posts lol. Anyways, I have
not given anyone a green star since I showed up. I will protest the green star system until the end, because I am not longer 4 years old and do not
like being treated like a 4 year old. Regrettably, everywhere we go in modern society, we are indeed treated like 4 year olds.
