Reports that the plane has a "device" on board

We've just had a statement from Greater Manchester Police over the developments at Manchester Airport. Chief Superintendent John O'Hare, said, "An incoming plane has been escorted into the airport by the Royal Air Force as a result of information received by the pilot about a possible device on board. "We don't know how genuine this threat is but it is absolutely vital we deal with the situation as a full emergency..."

Reports are now suggesting that the plane was from Dohar/Qatar Airlines. If the pilot thought it important enough to inform the RAF then this could be serious. It will be very interesting how this develops.

Certainly better than them shooting it down. That does seem to be the latest trend after all.

Reports coming in that a note was handed to the pilot - the pilot then reported a possible device on board.

A note handed to the pilot?
Sounds more like a crazy person that a terrorist-would terrorists give a note to the pilot?
I doubt it.

Looks like it was a hoax....GMP reporting "business as usual" now at Manchester Airport

Greater Manchester Police have just tweeted an update: "It's now business as usual at @manairport due to swift partnership response. Police still dealing with the matter as an isolated incident. "The plane has been moved to allow specialist officers who are dealing with the incident to board."
