Military jets have escorted a passenger plane to Manchester Airport, National Air Traffic Control Services (NATS) has confirmed.
The planes have landed in the last few minutes, according to NATS - the air traffic management service.

We've just had a statement from Greater Manchester Police over the developments at Manchester Airport. Chief Superintendent John O'Hare, said, "An incoming plane has been escorted into the airport by the Royal Air Force as a result of information received by the pilot about a possible device on board. "We don't know how genuine this threat is but it is absolutely vital we deal with the situation as a full emergency..."

Me too....I'm only 3 miles from the airport, I didn't see it going over but I heard it!
Reports coming in that a note was handed to the pilot - the pilot then reported a possible device on board.
Greater Manchester Police have just tweeted an update: "It's now business as usual at @manairport due to swift partnership response. Police still dealing with the matter as an isolated incident. "The plane has been moved to allow specialist officers who are dealing with the incident to board."
