"After three years of civil war, hundreds of thousands fled the country desperate to escape the ongoing violence perpetrated by the government and extremist groups alike," the report said. It said that in Homs, the Christian population has plummeted from 160,000 before the conflict to "as few as 1,000."

A very shocking and real statement. As a believer in the faith(not what this is about keep it on the M.E. please) it's rather disheartening to see one religious group just destroying what was once a rather lager population of faith down to basically nothing.

The numbers in the above quote speak for themselves, this has been an ongoing issue that nobody wants to even talk about, but yet everyone is more focused on Hamas or Israel.

It basically feels like we are in a modern day Crusade

Where did the rest of those christians move too, did they move countries, towns, region?

Millions of irakies where killed or forced to move, where you also calling for a crusade then?

When the us president finishes is we need to save more people by bombing them speech with god bless america, does that equate to a new crusade?

Does fox have a need to inflame people to make a profit?

I have been wondering about this. It seems that this other middle east atrocity is being bypassed by the media. Good find, OP.

Deflect much? We can probably at least agree that the killing needs to stop. Too many people are dying and suffering in the name of political and religious agendas.

You could think of it as the Islamic crusades? I mean, Christians had theirs nearly 1000 years ago but obviously in this day and age slaughtering people because they don't believe in something is classed inhumane, so they can't really complete their mission or do as much damage as Christians did.

Good find though, seems like there's a lot going on in the M.E. and I think it's only going to escalate, SF

Yea 9/11 really got things cooking. Just like the Neo-cons wanted.

Meanwhile the US citizens drifted off in front of the TV.

Bravo Dick and Rummy.

I was just talking about this now with my family... we are shocked to say the least, but we really dont know whether to believe this story or not. It sounds like something outta the middle ages....

If this is in fact true.... I am deeply saddened that the world doesn't talk about this. Why is everyone focusing on Gaza when the REAL genocide is happening in Homs????

What deflection, i asked a few questions to understand where the op is coming from, i go by body count, and the christians are way up there in the millions of lives taken in the name of there god.

Where did i deflect, let me get this, so a christian is forced to move because of civil war is considered a crusade, millions of iraquis affected by the civil war, is considered deflecting.

I have never called for a Crusade, if you carefully re-read what I typed you will see what I said. I find it also rather odd that you are bringing up a completely different war which was started, do I even have to really say? Because of 9/11 and fake WOMD.

Also last time I checked in no way did we forcefully make any people move, please provide a source for that.

Oh, and yes I know it's fox news, but I did follow up research and this was the better article that I found, I can find more if you would like?

In case you don't remember or just don't keep up with events this has been happening since the start of the Syrian civil war, tons of people who fled were Christians while many more were slaughtered in horrific ways.

And this is just because I don't think you know what Crusade means, Crusade: Any war carried on by papal sanction.

On a side note, the fact remains Christians learned how wrong and terrible their Crusades were hence way they have turned the cheek and look down very strongly on violence. But I guess it's okay when you are Islamic to go and kill people who are not of your faith ONLY BECASUE THEY ARE NOT OF YOUR FAITH!!!

Do you even seriously know what is going on in Iraq right now? Sure doesn't seem like it, you do know IS is making anyone who doesn't believe in their religion convert or be killed.

It's rather sad your getting stuck up on the point that I said it feels like a modern day crusade, if you must know I was talking about all the conflicts going on right now, MOST OF THEM ARE FOR RELEGION!

If you want to get into a crusade battle we can, I know a very large amount about all of them, and just so you know the Christians didn't start every Crusade there is just as much blood on the hands of the Islamic people as the Christian, at lest us in the Christian faith have learned from our wrongs whole it appears that Islam has not.

"The message added that ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has agreed to allow them (Christians who do not agree to convert or pay extra taxes) to leave the northern Iraqi city by noon Saturday (5 a.m. ET). After that, the message said, "the only option is the sword."

But the international organization Human Rights Watch says the extremist group is already "killing, kidnapping and threatening religious and ethnic minorities" in Mosul and other Iraqi cities and towns.

"Being a Turkman, a Shabak, a Yazidi or a Christian in ISIS territory can cost you your livelihood, your liberty, or even your life," Human Rights Watch Middle East Director Sarah Leah Whitson said in a press release issued on Saturday from Duhok in Iraqi Kurdistan."

Well it mostly probably has to do with how deep the Zion's are into the entertainment business, which is also the news. It is very, very sad how most are just pushing the Syrian Civil War under the rug.

Wow thanks bud, its called a civil war, all types of people get affected, christianity is a dying religion, and its not dying because of islam.

It is sad to see that many people behing displaced, but i try to see the bigger picture, and im religion blind, victims all deserve the same respect.

To bes 100% honest it's because Christians are not considered a weak "minority" so no one will kiss their ass.

I understand it's a civil war, but what is wrong and the whole point of this is that people who are doing nothing other than living are being killed because of their religion, and it's not limited to just Christians, in this area either.
