Is ATS adding more ads to within threads?, as per these photos, or is it my laptop / Chrome, I run anti malware etc daily but as of about an hour ago there are even hotlinks within threads, the green arrow things if clicked show an ad, there are at least one or two each post and even on the write thread, attached to the TITLE etc.

Looks like malware. Are there any identifying "markers" to the ads? Like who they are sponsored by or something. Pretty much anything you can Google to find more info. It might not technically count as malware, that may be why your scans aren't finding anything.

Definitely some sort of malware/browser hijack. Download and use Malwarebytes to clean out the malware:

Download AdwCleaner to clean adware, browser hijacks, etc.:

Thanks, it appears it is malware, running scans etc now.

Looks like it might be "AdSense", hate that company.

I normally only have to use minimal blocking software, after I log in, it tends to lessen.

It's not. AdSense is not malware.

That being said, yes, it's either coming from malware on your system, or being injected by your Internet service provider -- which is happening more often than people realize.

After a few hours, various programs and reboots, it is now thankfully sorted.

It was a trojan /malware.

I certainly don't visit porn sites or anything of that nature but sometimes my son tries free movie sites for obscure things like Annoying Orange and I think he perhaps clicked on something from a rogue site. Supervised constantly from now on.
